has anyone seen spring awakening?? ok, im a geek and a broadway buff.. i go see shows like every two weeks [including off broadway and other shows] and seriosuly i thiknk spring awakening is brilliant but i havent heard the same from everyone.. what do ya think? i also just saw the les mis revival.... i was in tears!! lol
Yea, my girlfriend has seen it twice, she's totally obsessed with it. But I can understand why, it seems like a really good show, with excellent music. Generally I hate most new broadway/musical type music, but I think Spring Awakening is an exception, mostly because its Duncan Sheik though, who was basically previously unknown in the musical theater world. He also did an excellent job of casting the show with pretty much previously unknown talent, much of which was found off of MySpace. Its amazing that something so fresh and modern is really just an adaptation of the 1891 play of the same title, its controversial now, I can't imagine what was racing through people's minds in 1891. Have you seen Jersey Boys? I hear that's rather excellent as well.
I have not seen Spring Awakening but OMG would I LOVE to see it. BIG disadvantage of being in Wisconsin!. Yes, the story is phenominal as I have read the original play. The music is great and is extremely catchy. I'm excited Jersey Buys opens in October down in Chicago.
