Many of us here dislike dreadcombs. In fact, many of us here dislike the idea of combs in general, which was why many of us let our hair dread. It's not "neglect" it's NATURE! Part of the reason for my locks is to help me feel closer to the mother.

And anyway, I've had my dreads for nearly six years now. What exactly do you expect me to backcomb?

combs used to all be made like that (according to my father, who i thought would make fun of me for buying a flea comb), and then the world decided plastic is better. :(

Hey, well firstly, what sold dreads to my parents was that there was another way to make knattys other than the 101% natural way. Plus, backcombing is really quite a good alternitive if you haven't the time for process of your hair locking over a long timespan. Really, they feel like natural dreads.

Well, I could never have dreads made in the way you have, I kinda respact you for giving society the two fingers and saying: 'I'M DOING DREADS THE NATURAL WAY. Don't like it? Tougth shit'. (Sorry for calling it the neglect method, BTW).

I'm a relitive beginner. My knatty were on and off since spiring 06. After many failed attempts, I got them right! [IMG] and...well they are awesome!

Don't be 100% against backcombing. It's a good place to start if your a beginner. It's like building a garden. It may have been started off by man, but It'll be grown by the hand of nature.
