When singular nouns that end in y, where the y is preceded by a consonant: like in 'conspiracy', or even in a name like 'Hanratty', the plural is always 'ies'. All naughty boys who hereafter err shall be taken across Regina's knee have their pants pulled down and their bottoms tanned. No girls are capable of such mistakes.
