I have my own board. I tell you I have had more than a thousand spammers join in two years and alll they do is spam. I guess it's fortunate that they are Russian and come frfom Yandex and other foreign domains. But even here in the yoga forum every other post is spam. I put items on Craigslist to sell. I get spam in my inbox. I mean, how the fuck do these people exist in such huge numbers?
yes...people find very clever ways of informing our members of the existence of their websites....some disguise it as a thread about something else when the real reason is to just plant the ''website seed''
They aren't necessarily people. Bots join forums. You know you can block certain areas and IP addresses... Cuts down on a lot of spam. I ran a board for about 6 years and there was only one spam post that got through and it was deleted immediately.
oh trust me i block spammers on ip, domain, username, and everything else. i was just looking at some shit some russian spammer put up - seven posts and each one had a different ip address. same poster. i am guessing pro spammers have anonimizers and proxies galore - it's a conspiracy of idiots with loads of means for propaganda
I think spam and spammers are just one of those things about the internet...something that you really can't avoid.
