What would everyone's favourite soundtracks be? I don't actually own any myself, I'm not all that keen on the movie snippets that are popped in between tracks. But I've found a lot of quality music through the magic of that big screen, so what d'you like? Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels - Junior Murvin: Police & Theives - The Stooges: I Wanna Be Your Dog - Zorba The Greek! Pulp Fiction - Urge Overkill: Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon - "It was a teenage wedding and the old folks wished 'em well" - Al Green: Let's Stay Together Trainspotting - Blur: Sing - Brian Eno: Deep Blue Day - Iggy Pop: Nightclubbing
Without thinking too much ('cos boy does that hurt!) the soundtrack to South West 9 is pretty kicking.
these are 3 of my fave albums, though i have to add atomic to trainspotting, i enjoy the entire pulp fiction soundtrack, and on the lock stock my fave songs are the james brown one (cant remember the name), fools gold by the stone roses, zorba, though the whole album is good others i'd check out are the smallville soundtrack, which includes some favourites of mine such as eva cassidy's time after time, a lifehouse song, and a heap of others that i can't remember! the good morning vietnam soundtrack is good too, lots of old classics...easy rider ain't bad either. snatch is pretty good, having golden brown by the stranglers. the donny darko soundtrack is nice, having mad world (though i seriously suggest getting gary jules album with this on...it's the one that isn't called greetings from the side....something like snakeoil for wolfskins or something weird) aaand it has love will tear us apart anyway, im rambling, too much coffee
i've never been to into soundtracks, compilations or best of (name of band) and such. There are several movies where i have seen the sound track and heard the music in the movie that i like. Here are a few of my favorites: Garden State Almost Famous Pulp Fiction Kill Bill
I'm a big soundtrack collector... My faves would be: Kill Bill 1&2 The Matrix 1 The Crow(first one), both the soundtrack and the original score Pulp Fiction End of Evangelion Dumb and Dumber(I know this one sounds odd but it's perfect for a roadtrip)
The only one I have actually gone out and bought.. apart from Dirty Dancing in my younger years... Is... Empire records !
Resevoir DOgs Dirty Dancing Grease Hard Days Night Wizard of Oz (espcially 'If I only had a brain) Easy RIder Monty Python movies Woodstock Romeo and Juliet A Life Less Ordinary To name a few
Do you mean Blue Jam on Warp records? That was the soundtrack to the radio series that spawned Jam. I have the entire Radio 1 "Blue Jam" on tape ... incredible stuff. Chris Morris is a genius. There was a film called Morvern Callar a couple of years ago that had loads of Warp artists on it ... when I watched it I kept thinking "I know this"... they seemed to be working through my entire record collection... Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Stereolab, Broadcast...
No sir, I mean the television series. The radio work was equally as good but I love telly-jam most of all because of the absurd imagery, the music compliments it beautifully. I got the music credits from jamcredits.com . Great stuff!
I've got two soundtracks, Amelie and Lost In Translation, and they're both ace and I really reccommend them!
