Being English when I think about Proms I think about pigs blood, they don't have them over here, are you expected to go, do you have to have a date, can same sex couples go?? Enlighten me S
you actually don't have to have a date, some go "stag" as they say. You don't have to go, I only did once, my last year. I think you have seen the movie "Carrie" too many times Same sex couples COULD go, but would probably not be recommended outside of Manhattan or San Frrancisco.
If a same sex couple went to ours back in the day, it would have been ricockulous. I would hope that people would be a little more accepting of that these days, but I doubt it. I forgot I live in a FYR state.
I wouldnt go to prom if someone held a gun to my head. I hate heels i hate putting my hair up & i HATE dances.
I went to my Senior Prom, but not really. hahahahha. I took my cousin who was on probation, he got special permission to go. We got all dressed up, went and got our picture taken, left the prom, changed clothes and drove my Mom's hot rod around out in the country all night on acid. It was truly a blast.
sounds like you had the right idea tarabelle, nothing like the good old acid days of high school. I was supposed to go to a winter prom thingy, but got busted with my friends sneaking out of the house and taking my friends brothers car al over the city the night before, so I wasn't allowed to go
ha, not really, I think the girl was, girls seem to like these things more than their guy counterparts.
we call them formals over here. i went to both of mine, the first one was the best. my final year one sucked majorly. actually i had the most fun at the guys formals i went to.
Actually at most of the schools in this area, same sex couples were strictly banned from attending prom together. Absolutely ridiculous in my mind. Stupid conservative bastards. One of my friends went with a female friend of his and his boyfriend went with another female friend so that they could be there together. I went to two proms. My junior year, I went to my boyfriend at the time's school prom. He went to a school 4 times as big as mine, but oddly enough my senior prom at my own school was way fancier and better. I think more or less it's just a big chance to spend way too much money to play dress up and pretend you're royalty or something. I had fun, though. Especially since I only spent $15 on my dress my junior year and I made my own dress my senior year. As far as after-parties went, jr. year, my then-bf and I left early and went to the park for some make out. A security guard caught us in the back of the Land Rover, me with my dress half off, and kicked us out. We ended up going back to his place and that's the night I hit third base the first time in his parents' guest room. After senior prom, all we did was come back to town, go to a convenience store to hang out for a bit, then went and sat at a friend's house. Rather slow after-party...lol.
