If you had to choose one what would it be? Im not a fan of country but I could really see someone poppin pills and drinking themselves to death to Jack Greene's - There Goes my Everything.. That'd be the song
There's that song Gloomy Sunday by some Hungarian guy back [I think] in the 1920s... it's somehow supposed to have been responsible for various suicides and suspicious deaths, including that of its writer.
i'm coming out by donna summers, i'm walking on sunshine... not too sure who sings that, or even if donna summers sings 'i'm coming out' that song that's like i'm a loser baby so why don't you kill me
Comfortable Numb - Pink Floyd Dead memories - Slipknot Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd At Least We Tried - Moby Karma Police - Radiohead No Surprises - Radiohead Street Spirit - Radiohead DAMN, I typed those WAY to fast.
Johny Cash - Hurt Its a Long Road - Jerry? Goldsmith I think Free Bird is alot of peoples funeral song..
The point is, if somebody is going to do that, it doesn't matter if anyone endorses or condones it. It's either going to happen or it isn't, depending on the individual and how serious they. Suicide is a fact, it happens. Talking about songs to commit suicide by isn't going to make a blind bit of difference. Although it may inadvertently create a bitchin' soundtrack.
2000 light years from home ---Stones Planet Caravan------Sabbath Wish you were here---Floyd---------but u'd probably need an album(yeah im old) for pills and ETOH
I didn't mean after reading these posts someone will go and automatically kill themselves. It just seemed a rather odd thread. I disagree, suicide is a desperate act - a slight word can change everything. The difference between life and death. I think we all know suicide is a fact, its not a new "phase" its been around since the dawn of time and will continue to be.
I didn't say that suicide wasn't a desperate act. Unfortunately, I know more about suicide than I'd like to. However, I believe that saying "a slight word can change everything and is the difference between life and death"... well, I think that may be a little bit of a dramatic statement. It may be all the difference if it comes from a person who means something to the suicidal individual, but when you're talking about songs on an internet forum, I don't think it makes a blind bit of difference. It's a strange, dark subject, yes, but will it cause anyone to take the final step - I'd wager not.
If you think I'm being insensitive, then I apologise. I don't know your history or where you are in your life right now. I'd hate to think that my attitude was making things worse for you.
