    Memory is a bastard
    Determined to polish the past
    Shine bittersweet memories
And then betray you one day
When reality is standing there staring you in the eye

    It's a cruel realization
    Freeing,stubborn,raging
    Confused neon yuppy
    Comb your hair
    Put on a suit
Feel a little more like part of society
    Smile big for the camera

    Your self-imposed torture tames me
    I realize I can't stop it
You aren't even aware I care
    You're slipping
    Right into everything
    You always believed you needed

But is it really your hope?
    Your sweaty summer dreams
Are they filled with truths of the rigid framework
Or just naked women writhing in your name?
They are a flock of committed complacents
    You are an unsure idealist
I could help you see it

    But you won't let me
I think I can understand the sequence
    No more bothered men
No more high school excuses testing the will of my fate
Things have stunted in a foolish sandtrap
Pity is people looking for an easy out
When the whip cracks like thunder
They fake a fall and claim immobility
In small doses it teaches compassion
But misplaced it shall bury you in roundabout sorrow

What can be so bad about challenging the darkness?
At most you may stumble in the shadows for a time
But eventually you feel a bump under your finger
And realize it's exactly what you've been looking for
