Something interesting you learned recently

Eh, it's a whole thing, I don't want to hijack this thread, but we're finally alone just the two of us, no family living with us...no stress.

We ended up putting my mom and grandmother up for about six months. Not ideal for newlyweds. Had a lot of shit go down the past few months, and it upended life. But we're good now.

How's life down under?

I suppose I was more of a Ghostbusters and Ninja Turtles kid. Power Rangers had some redeemable qualities, but my friends and I couldn't get into it, and I thought the dialog and action scenes were corny. At my school, if you liked power rangers, you were labeled a dork. So there was the element of peer pressure as well.

 

I learned that the man who sang "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" is the same voice actor who played Tony the Tiger in the Frosted Flakes commercials.

Whenever I hear the song, I now visualize the Tony the Tiger singing it.

Just on Ghostbusters; John Belushi was originally going to play Bill Murrays character but died when Ackroyd was writing the script

 

Wasn't Power rangers also a few years later? I digged the Turtles and stuff like Thundercats a lot as a kid as well. But when Power rangers came around i was hitting puberty me thinks.
I always disliked stuff like Pokemon and Dragonball Z a lot. It made me prejudiced against anime/manga in general. Avatar (the drawn animation series) and Howls moving castle changed this a little But still can't stand those other two and tend to look down on massive fans... Just can't help it.

 

I think we're around the same age? Maybe you're a couple of years older, I'm not sure
But the original Power Rangers with Kimberly the Pink Ranger and..the others, I dont remember their names..anyways it started coming on when I was around 8 years old

If memory serves... Kimberly (Pink), Jason (Red), Billy (Blue), Trina (Yellow), Zach (Black) were the originals and then Tommy (Green/White) joined a few episodes in.

Really. You're only a year older than me. For some reason i pictured you as 40's or 50's.

I couldn't get into the power rangers either. I saw it a few times to see what the fuss was about, then it got too corny. I was heavily into WWF (now WWE) at the time. Ninja Turtles i got into when i was younger.

 

Never liked the Power Rangers.
