Im not trying to prove/disprove the existance of god, its just an interesting concept I was thinking about. You know when your thinking about stuff on a deep level, and you really "feel" that its true, like it makes sense on more than an intellectual level and its a true realization and its mind blowing? This is kind of like that... So lets say that everything that exists in reality originates from an energy source finding a pathway to express its self. An easy one to imagine is the suns energy expressing itself through radiating heat and light. All energy that is created is expressed. Presumably all the energy that is being expressed around us, including everything physical such as planets, atoms and our bodies (which are produced by energy being condensed to a slow vibration) either came from the big bang or came from a creator (I consider them both the same thing in essence, apart from we consider one of them to have a conscious and intent). However, I dont beleive some elements of the human mind, which is energy finding a pathway to express itself, could have been produced at the same time as the energy expressing itself in the physical world. In other words I beleive the penultimate energy that created the physical world wasnt responsible for creating some of the emotions we feel, such as sadness, happiness, love etc. This suggests that there were two sources of creation. The first being the event that created energy for the physical world to exist, and the second event that created energy for the emotional world to exist. How could the big bang create the energy for us to feel these emotions? Either a second distinctively different form of energy was introduced to the universe after the big bang, which allowed for the expression of these emotions, or they were present before the big bang occured. If this the case doesnt it prove the big bang wasnt the first creation of energy? That the feelings of emotion we have now were being expressed before the big bang and maybe even had a role in creating it? I dont even beleive in a god, its just making so much sense to me right now... Id be interested in hearing your opinions
I don't think scientists believe that the "big bang" created energy. I also don't think that things we "really feel" are true necessarily are true.
By created, I'm talking created for the first time, not just released. Your previous discussion gave the impression that before the bang not only was there no matter but there was no energy--that it ALL started then. I have no doubt that there was lots of energy present at the Big Bang and released by it. I'm questioning that energy started there.
I understand what you mean. We could both be right, depending how you look at it. If the energy released like a bomb, where a reaction occured, then energy was created and released at the same time. Like in an atom bomb, there is no energy, and then energy is created and released when the bomb triggers. But if there was potential energy, and there was another force stopping that energy from expressing itself, and then at the big bang the potential energy was released, then you would be right. An example of this would be pressing your finger against your thumb (the finger now has potential energy) and then suddenly moving the thumb out of the way for the energy of finger to be released (through movement of the finger). So i guess we could both be right depending on how energy was released at the big bang. Whats really interesting about this is that I think if god did create the universe, he would be like the potential energy releasing itself, but if the universe was created by the big bang, it would be like a bomb, where energy is created from nothing. Maybe my thinking is flawed and the theoretical bomb is storing potential energy too?
Detonation of bombs is not "creating energy". The detonation releases/burns the densely stored energy of the explosive material. If there was a "big bang" either stored energy was being released or energy was simply being created. Personally I'm not convinced of the BB and leaning toward energy being created. Energy in its most basic definition is simply a natural propagation of balance. There is some unknown property of the universe that resists "propagation of balance". This somehow allows energy to collect into particles and matter as if stars and planets were like drops of oil on water, it does not dissolve into space. If E=MCsq then M=E/Csq, Matter = energy ( stored propagation of balance)/ Light speed squared. There's a very good chance the propagation of balance = light speed. Either a fraction of energy IS matter or it takes lots of energy to create matter. Are quantum physicists really detecting particles or are they witnessing artifacts of wave energy that we have yet to understand? Propagation is a wave. People are so hung up on a material point of view that they think the big bang originated from a super dense speck of matter. Matter comes after energy, it is a product of energy. Energy is born from unbalance. The sum total of all energy in the universe must equal zero. A propagation wave or any wave of energy contains a positive 180 degree phase followed by a negative 180 degree phase with a 360 degree period total average amplitude of zero. The unanswerable questions; how did the universe become unbalanced, why is propagation of balance through space like oil and water. Just because we don't have the answers is no indication of God and supernatural consciousness. There's no such thing as supernatural, if it exists it must be natural! Supernatural only exists in our imaginations. Like imagining consciousness is part of some other energy outside stored energy that created matter. Sounds like spiritual tendencies are affecting logic. We know more about consciousness than the spiritually inclined want to admit. We can drastically alter mental states with common physical elements. We know moods are chemicals. Brain surgeons can turn a mind off with the switch of a button connected to electrodes that disrupt the brains electrical signals. Surely the "supernatural spirit mind energy" could not be so drastically affected by physical world energy.
I understand what your saying, and I appreciate the value of physics, but I dont think the energy which brings particles into existance comes from the same source that creates the energy for our thoughts and emotions.
I'm still trying to figure out the basis for your belief. I understand that the belief is very clear and strong for you, but is it based on anything other than a strong feeling? Not that strong feelings should be discounted, but if you're sharing these feelings with others who haven't had them, you'll need to link them to some common denomenator we can all relate to.
