Okay I'm trying to learn something here, not debate just need info. What does Summer and Winter Solistice and Spring and Summer Equinox mean in paganism? What celebrations does it imply or what festivities are celebrated?
The equinoxes and solstices and marking points on the wheel of the year, when the sun and the moon are at their heights and equals. The pagan year is like a wheel, as is the circle of life. It starts with the winter equinox (or yule, as it's known). Along side the solstices are the four holidays based on the Harvest: Imbolic, Beltine, Lughnasdh, and Samhaim. The Wheel of the year is looked upon like the Wheel of life. The god is born, grows up, meets the goddess, falls in love, the goddess falls pregnant, the god dies and the goddess give birth again at yule (At least that's how I see it).
