Does anyone know anything about the diss tracks "Linda Tripp" by El-p and "Dear Elpee" by Sole? I've listened to them both, and they're both pretty fucking good... But I'd like to know what that fight's about.
"A while ago the first release anticon put out was this thing called The Music for the Advancement of Hip-Hop which right there you know is 'uh oh, look out. What is this?' I think it was tongue in cheek. I had nothing to do with that record: I wasn't on it, I didn't name it, I had nothing to do with it. Sole is really fucking sarcastic, but in a funny way. On that was a song called "Dear El-P," where Sole was dissing El-P because apparently El-P dissed Sole on the back of a Company Flow record or something – I don't even fucking know. For a while, they were doing disses back and forth. But we just received an email from El-P the other day – this is really cool – and he's like, 'Dose: It was really cool hanging out with you in Europe. You're a cool eccentric artist; keep doing what you're doing I like that. Sole: I just heard a few tracks off of Selling Live Water and it was really fucking cool. I'm glad you're not doing any throwback to old school hip-hop like everyone else. You guys are doing your own thing and I respect it. Keep it up. Respect, El-P.'" From an interview with 'Why?' from cLOUDDEAD. Use google, butt sniffer. Hahaha.
