Socialism Is The Future

Solely because of it being a socialist democracy?
And even if it was partly because of malgovernment does that mean social democracy can not benefit another country? Clearly not. We have already established the fact that Norway is a much better example of succesful social democracy.

Just like when a country embraces capitalism it does not mean guaranteed success because of capitalism. It stands or falls with the right people in the right place, the amount of corruption, etc etc.
You look at why a system failed, then determine wether it could/should be improved or adapt. Instead of dropping it as a whole because of the nonsensical principle that anything socialist is bad.
An important aspect is what the people of a country want of course. Now, i wonder what a lot of people in Greece prefer: get rid of all things socialist in their country, or simply less corruption and a government that did not blatantly lie to both its own citizens AND the countries they lend money from.
If half of Greece still votes for a form of social democracy I don't think they blame social democracy for Greece's financial disaster.

But - as a human - I do know that exploiting people leads to nowhere.
Whether you exploit them under the disguise of capitalism or under the veil of socialism makes no difference.
It is still exploitation.
We are entering a whole new era , I believe , where we finally grasp that NONE of these conventional cages/reigns are benefitial to mankind. Every person needs to have free&unlimited access to 1)soil 2)food 3)water 4)housing 5)education. As long as only 1 of those criteries is missing there will be turmoil and injustice.

Also some European countries are doing better than others. Just because one country fails due to corruption or mismanagement or whatever the case may be doesnt mean social democracy as a political philosophy is doomed. Obviously it isnt as it is working in many European countries.

Based on your posts in this thread, I think you're just being pissy that your country won't let you drive the type of car that you want (because fuck road safety, I have the right to crash my car and kill people if I want to). Please don't blame social democracy for something that petty bureaucracy caused. The fact that they co-exist within the same system doesn't make them the same thing. The capitalist "Land of the Free" has it's own share of retarded rules. Like the one where your insurance company won't cover your medical bills, if you get treated in a hospital that wasn't included in their plan. Something that I, thank the Allmighty, don't have to worry about, since our government sponsored plan covers all citizens, regardless of where they go to get treated, and why. Well, within the confines of the public sector of course, but we at least have one, and it covers enough to work well.

You mentioned that your country offers social security and public services. Austria, was it? Well, these are the creation of social democratic systems, and you shouldn't denigrate them just because you can't have spinner wheels in your car. That is shallow and petty as fuck. Lose 'em, and trust me, you'll be begging on your hands and knees to have them back once you realize that hospitals no longer treat you for pennies, or even for free, even though you are clearly in pain and in mortal fear for your life, unable to understand why no one will help you anymore. Or when you lose your job to some faceless chinaman in Asia, and are forced to relocate to skid row, because LOL, no more government handouts, because fuck those "lazy commies", right, so you end up losing your home, and you're reduced to living in poor conditions, that are a clear violation to your human rights, where you are cold, and hungry all the time, because fuck those "filthy bums and their gommunizm", right? Even though many people who have experienced this sometimes have over 40+ years of work history, but fuck 'em anyway. Because they're lazy commie bums for, God forbid, wanting some help from the system they helped to maintain.

Son, I'm telling you, if you currently live in a western European country (most of them social democracies, or following a form of), you obviously don't seem to understand how good you have it. There are literally right now US citizens out there, who would love to go to prison in Norway, because a Norwegian prison cell is much more luxurious than their rat and roach infested, overpriced New York studio apartment. They have the mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik complaining that his human rights are being violated in prison, even though he has a TV and a Playstation in his cell.

Social democracy has enabled the type of well-being like the world has never seen before. Anyone who wishes its disappearance is a fool, who'd probably die poor and miserable, after they'd realize the scale of their fuck up, when they took for granted and then threw away the one thing that enabled their unprecedented comfort in the first place. Because fuck the Reds, right? I just want me some spinner wheels for my car. That the drooling, corrupt retards in Soviet Union and South America managed to botch the whole thing simply by ignoring the rules completely is by no means the system's fault.

politicians here are the worst criminals you can ever imagine. they enjoy the so called "anonymousity" meaning nobody is allowed to pursue them or even stop them at the border and ask for their passports. This is why some of them are dealing with drugs. Big time. Pablo Escobar in suits&ties. They also get bribed a lot by (pharma) industries. That is the real situation in Europe. I dont know how it is in the US .

 

Let's be certain here. Real Socialism has never existed anywhere in the World. The best concepts and models allow for the essential interactions of Human behaviour - trade, distribution of goods, care, etc. - to flow like water. It can conceivably become so organic and fluid that Government eventually all but disappears. When essential goods and services are held in common, there is less room for fat cats to accrue the immense and unfair wealth they do now. Of course people still have their own personal possessions. They just don't consume for the sake of consuming.

Of course I am an idealist, and there is always a danger that the dick-headed and clit-headed impulse will ruin it. But we really don't need the financiers and corporate leaches. They do nothing useful for society of any practical value. But they instil the idea that if Humanity decides to reject them and choose another way civilization will collapse.

yes, well said, i agree on everything you said, my signature on it, i always thought in the past that we need a system but thats not true, they tell us humans need to be under control or else there will be chaos, but thats not true at all, if you leave humans free without interference everything will self-regulate, just as the price in every market self-regulates without interference, it is well known among economists. If humans need laws and punishment or else there will be chaos then why the heck is there so much crime in the US? despite all the death penalties and strict laws. See what I am saying?
