what exactly do you mean by this?

language is a highly specialized tool of communication. the way you arrange the words is specific to the message you wish to convey. to say that you are not responsible for the words you used because you did not create them is a logical fallacy. by the same logic, someone could say that he is not responsible for the murder he committed because he did not manufacture the gun he used.

i mean most of the time when im saying something here im not thinking biout what im saying just placing random wordss inm random orders that are then interporated as a sentence, simple as that.. its a total strewam of conceisnbess thing, not thought out at all.. you could even think of it as automatic writting..
ofcourse i could do the same without being restricted toi using known words from anyt particular language..and it would still be just as meaningfull/meaningless

lol i actually agree completely with what S.E says the only difference maybe is that i think of the genereal message i want to say and then the words are typed around that genereal message wheteher they make sense ort not idk

I think instead of random words, he strings random letters together and occasionally randomly forms a sentence which makes little sense... unless of course you are on drugs, then it has significant meaning.

I, for one, think it's worse that he knows he doesn't think before he writes a post and that he doesn't put any thought into how he communicates with other members... yet chooses to do it anyway. I'd almost prefer he be completely oblivious to his behavior.

With all due respect to SE, I think what he's trying to say is that he doesn't spend time trying to rearrange his thoughts into elegant prose-like fancy speech. No carefully constructed sentences, punctuation hit and miss, and no spell-check. He just types it out as the words come into his head. That's what he means when he says its a "stream of conciousness", ie, he doesn't send it to be proof-read first.

The points he puts across and opinions he presents may not always be widely agreed with, but I have yet to come across a single one that has been entirely without thought. To the contrary: I think a more accurate description of SE's posts would be raw thoughts.

I think the sig quote is just a little self-effacing and a lot tongue in cheek. Or maybe I'm wrong, and what he posts really is just a pile of garbled shite... Not found that to be the case myself though - and I don't do drugs.

I can't help but feel like people's responses were quite cynical towards SE...If we did that our whole life we could fall into the ignorant category....hell ignorance is bliss. But the whole negativity towards SE or anyone is a shame and annoying. People always bitch about his "condescending" comments on hair but then people jump at the first chance they can be condescending to him.

I totally gets what he means. When I am in that state of mind he is talking about, just free writting words, thoughts, and ideas that come to your mind without preconceiving them is when I write my best music...without thought...in complete "ignorance". If music was all I knew, and completely ignorant to everything else, I would be on hell of a player and composer. It's all the "random" and endless thoughts that distract us from our true agenda.
