man could purposely not bring in wood,knowing he could handle the cold. maybe she wasnt all that healthy to begin with,she freezes to death with a lil help from no food,while he secretly has a stash of food for himself. just enough to keep him alive but not enough to give his plan away..

then he just waits to be found and to collect on those millions.

 

That's how she got a 44 yr old to go up there with her. She told him she had millions and would leave it all to him. He secretly plotted her demise but then she found out, and as she lay dying she admitted to him that she was poor and had nothing to leave him afterall. By the time he got over his shock, she was dead and so were the dogs and cats.
