so wtf is salisbury steak anyway?

i had it for the first time in years tonight. it's tasty enough. but what the hell is it? i think it is similar to meatloaf or something - theres no way it's 100% meat, is there?

 

I think it's basically hamburger in the shape of a steak, covered in that brown sauce.

the only times I ever remember eating it was when it was part of a TV Dinner. haha..

Its a ground meat patty or cubed steak smothered in brown gravy and sauteed onions.
I prefer smothered pork chops. I only like cubed steak in chicken fried steak and it has to be super tender and crispy.

 

It's a nice sounding name for meatloaf.

I really don't like salisbury steak all that much. It's kind of...unnatural seeming.

 

I just want to eat the meat jelly encasing the salisbury steak. looks like animal jello.
