the grateful dead are the shit.

i listen to classic rock mostly, but some rap, modern rock, and reggae.

but music really isnt all that important to me, it will usually just be on in the background while i am doing something. i never usually really stop, and listen.

    Yea, I like music.

My favourites are: indie pop, indie rock, ska, some other sorts of rock and well pretty much every kind of music, these are just my current favourites from the top of my head.
I also like The Beatles. :)

I'm not too keen on jam bands (like Grateful Dead and Phish), though...

    Love,
    Borut

I'm pretty sure everyone in the world likes music.

I tend to like older stuff; The Beatles, Dylan, Queen, Carol King etc. Music has seriously gone downhill since I was born.

Not really, if you know where to look. [IMG]

Seriouslly, there are some very good bands out now or were out not too long ago, bands like Rage Against The Machine, The Strokes, The Unicorns, White Stripes, Bishop Allen (I love that band, hhe), The Cranberries, Death By Chocolate (I can't get any music by them, but as from what I've read they're very good), Franz Ferdinand, Alanis Morissette (I can't spell that), and so on...

I guess you wouldn't like most of these bands, but music is neither or going uphill or downhill lately, it's just like it used to be 20 years ago; of course in late 60's there were LOTS of music, that's when music production went uphill lots (with Beatlemania, and the like) but I don't think it ever got to that point after these years, so music really isn't going downhill these days in my opinion.

    Love,
    Borut

    You're probably right. :)
I'm probably just thinking of the 80's. Never been a fan of music from then, and those crappy manufactured bands.

I have heard of most of those bands (note to self: check out the rest) and actually really like Alanis Morrisette (I think you spelt that right :)).

Yeah I know sixties are over, a shame but whatever.

Cheers Borut, for restoring my faith in music and generally being a sweetheart *kiss*

Yes you did. And you did steal alllllll of them (according to your blog).

Why, lets browse my CD case here. 97 percent (+) of them you stole...

    Gorillaz
    Nelly furtado
    Massive Attack
    The Strokes
    REM
    Radiohead
    Portishead
Moby (would be in my CD album but I lost him)
    Lenny Kravitz
    DJ Shadow
    Morcheeba
    Tracy Chapman
    E.S. Posthumus
    Dixie Chicks

Those in bold are the same exact ones that you stole.
And hardly anyone has heard of most of them, especially E.S. Posthumus, so its evident you stole that from me. And I'm not saying you stole the music artists or w/e. I obviously don't own them. I'm saying you stole my music style.

taste... not necessarily style.. well, both you could say. But... sorry. You're the one who introduced me into these artists :p A few of them I already liked and/or had heard before.... such as Lenny Kravitz, The Dixie Chicks, The Strokes, REM, Massive Attack and Radiohead... actually, I never knew who massive attack was, but I did have their song "Teardrop" when I had Kazaa but I didn't know who did the song at the time. But, sorry. :p

Oh... and I also had heard Tracy Chapman songs before such as Give Me One Reason, but I never knew who she was exactly until you introduced me to it more.

damn you people like good music! Music is sooo important to me, I could not live without it. It has so much feeling and wonderfulness. And there is good music these days, like Jet is pretty cool. and the Vines.. and hawksly worksman.. and sam roberts... and the darkness... the trews and three days grace is also pretty rocking. I tired to only name bands that were unmentioned, but as some people said currently there are some pretty rocking bands. Also the 90's kicked ass!
