Moving down there to contiun College in Johnson City, so i was wondering if any one could tell me How the area is, ive never been down south befor so this would be a new experiance for me
I know some people from nashvillve, tennessee. They are actually quite liberal although im sure there are plently of republican nascar fans as well.

Although that can be misconstrued as a stereotypical response, statistically he's right. Look at a chart, in the 50's, before segeregation was prohibited by the U.S. Government, all Southern states required it. But yes, like others have said, people are different and aren't one label. How this helps you determine what tennessee is like.. I don't know.
Racism is no worse here than it is anywhere else, seriously. My biggest problem with TN is the narrow-minded people who like to down you for not living by THEIR "standards". I guess that is going on everywhere else as well, and I live in a smaller town, so I'm sure that has alot to do with it. It's a gorgeous state..nothing like the Tennessee hills!! Overall, it's just a laid back place. People are generally friendly. Gotta love that good ole' southern hospitality. I don't know where you're moving from, but if you're not used to humidity, then you'll probably dislike summers here. It does get pretty smothering. Winters aren't bad at all..we hardly get any snow, not in my area anyway. If we even have an inch of snow, then schools shut down, and good luck getting into the grocery store.. . It's pretty funny. Spring and fall..absolutely breathtaking. I hope you like it here, and I hope this helped a little.
tri cities are a fucked up borring mess ....but there are many beautifull parks n trails everywhere neerby . and lots of cool shows n a gathering neerby this summa .....very very perversly corrupt law enforcment n govmt .
