Hi all there! Here it is: Just found the photo, looking for some "Manson's family" pics on the web. Wonder whether these sweet and seemingly peace-loving guys are the real ones, who engaged in Sharon Tate's murder, or is it just a screenshot from a movie? If they're the real ones, could you tell me, please, who are seen on the pic (from left to right or vice versa)?
The picture is of the real "Manson Family" but I don't think that any of the people pictured were involved with the Tate-LaBianca murders. I'm not sure who they all are but I think the woman with the baby is Catherine Share aka Gypsy.
Looks like her, indeed. The girl who reportedely planned to hijack a Boeing 747 and threaten to kill one passenger every hour until Manson and fellow Family members were released from prison.
The one on the far left is Squeaky Fromme. She wasn't in Mansons murders, but attempted to assassinate Gerald Ford later on.
Look past the clothes, and not all of them look so peace-loving. The two guys visible on the right both look like they have something sinister inside to me. However, those are probably two that didn't do anything wrong =P
See I thought the two long haired, typical 'hippies' looked pretty innocent. That said, none of them look like murders in that pic
The guy on the left doesn't look like an evil incarnate, does he? Nevertheless, it's Charles Manson himself, a Dr. Mabuse of Hippiedom.
Actually, I think he looks really freaking 'evil' in that picture. Like he's looking down his nose, sizing you up...
The girl next to Squeaky (aka: Red) is named Sandra Goode (aka: Blue). The girl with the baby is Catherine Share (aka Gypsy). The baby might be "Pooh Bear" one of Manson's children.
The guy in the front, in red, is Paul Watkins. He's interviewed in Hendrickson's "Manson" documentary (filmed at Spahn Ranch).
I think the tall guy on the left with the dark hair and beard could be Tex Watson, but not sure. Tex was one of the ones involved and did commit some murders.
I can't tell you who the two guys are in the back, but I can tell you who they're not. Definitely not: Tex Watson, Bruce Davis, Bobby Beausoleil, Danny DeCarlo, Brooks Poston, TJ Wallerman. I think this was taken around the time of the start of the trials, when they hooked up with the Aryan Brotherhood. The Tate-Labianca killings and the Ford assassination attempt were so bizarre that a lot of people have forgotten the multitude of additional related crimes, like the so-called "suicide" of Zero, the shooting of Lotsa Pappa, the murders of Gary Hinman and Shorty Shea, the shootout with police in Hawthorne, the jet hijacking scheme, the disappearance of the Manson Family's own lawyer who was later found dead, not to mention the murders of Lauren and James Willett (the killers posed as the Willets, lived in their house, buried the bodies under it, and began raising the Willets's infant child as their own). The killings directed by Manson are just a fraction of the story. If you think the family photos are creepy, listen to some of the "family jams" audio recordings (small excerpts are at archive.org) sometime, if you dare. Or check out the documentary "Manson," filmed at Spahn Ranch with the non-jailed part of the family during the trials. I usually don't follow or read about true crime stories, but the Manson family case is so far off the scale bizarre that it is actually interesting for some reason.
You can see the underlying crazy in the girl second to the left's eyes. Charles Manson was only 5'2". I guess he was over-compensating...
Some of my customers are prison guards at Corcoran State Prison where he resides. They enjoyed fuckin' with him and said he was looney as could be. Nothing new there
mrs wica thinks the guy in the back, center [dark beard] is dennis rice, who joined after the arrests which would make it pretty unlikely that the short guy is little paul, but fits with the missing girls - where is everybody else? she thinks the photo was taken in 1971, after gypsy had her baby [perhaps that's him?] and before the hawthorne shootout . . .
I remember a couple of Manson's "girls" coming to the jungle where I lived south of Kona during the trial. Their heads were shaved and I stayed awaaay from them.
^^^ awww, scratcho, too bad, i think you would have really fit in :mickey: i've always wondered about people who joined after the trial, actually, i read a book by one and it was like reading a book by a stray animal and all the cults seem to have these late adopters - except, i guess, the people's temple and heaven's gate . . .
Lolz i hav no idea... i don't think anyone else does either.... :wheelchair::wheelchair::wheelchair::wheelchair:
