Your body produces testosterone. If you take testosterone, you are very prone to liver cancer. Your body produces estrogen, which is linked to breast cancer. Your body produces serotonin, but too much serotonin is neurotoxic. Your body creates carbon dioxide, which is toxic to your system in large amounts. Just because it is sold as a dietary supplement, do not be fooled! Melatonin is a very powerful drug. It is a hormone. I urge caution...
using melatonin is un-natural and therefore would certainly bring un-balance to your body. un-balance leads to dis-ease. questions?
Melatonin is not just a chemical, it is a VERY powerful HORMONE. They don't know the effects of taking orally, yet. I urge caution, look at the track record of other hormones given orally. It should be okay in low dose (0.5mg) taken occasionally. If you buy it/take it, be sure the label says it's synthetic. Otherwise, it is from an animals ground pineal gland. Viruses can be transmitted that way.
ok, here you go: http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Melatonin http://www.reproduction-online.org/cgi/content/abstract/78/2/711 and, http://www.brooks.af.mil/web/ram/melatonin.htm Hope this helps!
http://www.tulane.edu/~dmsander/garryfavwebfaq.html#alive According to the current definition of life, viruses are not "alive." They can be destroyed by a highly acidic solution. A highly acidic solution will also destroy an oriental rug. I don't see the correlation between potential to destroy and life. If you are a chemist, you don't need me to give you sources on melatonin. I have taken it, and will take it again in the future. I suggest people use low doses, and take it infrequently, because it is a hormone. As a chemist, I don't need to explain the potential dangers of hormones to you. I am not against melatonin use, per se, I just urge caution because we don't yet know of the long term effects, and are not sure of all of the short term effects. The significant rise in progesterone levels from melatonin use are fairly well documented. I don't know what the clinical significance of that will be for women, or men. I would not take natural melatonin. I had a diabetic patient get ill from porcine/bovine insulin before it was taken off the market. I am not sure what type of extraction they use, and how it affects viruses, but many articles suggest natural melatonin can be a way to transmit viruses. I am not trying to argue this with you, though. I suffer from chronic insomnia, with little relief from traditional therapies. If melatonin works well for you and you feel comfortable taking it every night, more power too you! I think it does work well, but I am concerned about the lack of well controlled, scientific studies and data. Again, I am only urging caution.
exactly, this is for directed use only. and it works fine like that. why do all these kids gotta try to snort things or find ways to make the effects more "intense"?
