there was a post before about a drug sign, to show people that you are looking or whatever. i just saw on the news that in buffalo, ny, drug dealers hang sneakers from telephone lines outside their houses to show people that they sell. obviously, cops found out, or else it wouldn't be on the news.
Yeah I have always heard that. I think in somse sense its a myth. Im sure in some areas its true but it seems like everywhere I go I end up seeing shoes hung over telephone wires and people dont deal there. Definetly interesting though. Ive also heard places where shoes are thrown over telephone wires is where someone has been killed. Another myth but im sure some instances are true.

The thought they where sneakers from a kid who got picked on and then they threw it up there so he couldnt get em anymore, boy was I off.

Sigh. What a waste of perfectly good sneakers. In Houston I saw sneakers on telephone and electric lines all the time, except it was on busy streets .
There is a pond around here with telephone lines running along the edge of it. For a couple weeks, there was a dead fish hanging from them.
ever see the movie "big fish"? well in the perfect town where everyone is so nice, all of their shoes are hung on a line. i wonder if that has any reference to drugs or if it was just so you couldn't leave.
