I just killed my first snake. Its guts were gross!! It was brown with black spots ringed with gold. Google images didnt gimme a name for it. Maybe HHB will know. lol Second snake Ive seen, first one I kill. Went all ninja on the motherfucker with a shovel after it hissed and expanded its head at me. Eeeeeeewwwwwww!!!! Country Livin is a trip. I guess its out coz of all the rain we got this morning.
this?? or maybe this?? anyway, if that aint one of them, go here and it lists all the snakes in texas.. http://www.texassnakes.net/pictures.html
Its neither HHB.. I'll follow the link in a bit. I dont care if its bad luck.. It was gonna attack my kids.
im curious to see what it was, be sure and post a pic when you find it.. yalls snakes are different than ours, well a lot of them so its kinda hard for me to guess. doesnt fit the description of anything im familiar with..
Usually if you leave snakes alone they'll leave you alone. They are good to have around because they kill rodents which are not good to have around.
It said it was a prairie king snake. it was baby. no longer than 2 feet.. I cant post pics from my pda, and the ants have gotten most of it. its teeming with ants. those fuckers are fast.
i would try to familiarize yourself with the poisonous ones in your area and as has been said, if it aint poisonous and therefore not a danger to you, your animals or the kids i would encourage you to just leave them be..
But cant they still bite even if they arent poisonous? When I said my kids, I meant my dogs. We have a rodent repellent. lol the blue heeler kills rodents all the time.
if all your worried about is your dogs i wouldnt.. its is rare that a dog dies from a snake bite, even rattle snakes seldom kill a dog unless they are bit numerous times.. fact is 25% of rattlesnake bites are "dry" (no venom). if one was to be bit give them MASSIVE doses of vitamin c ASAP and then give them a shot of antibiotics.. you can get antibiotics at any farm supply. my great pyrenees was bit by a copperhead earlier this year and really didnt have any trouble other than swelling..
That’s the one thing we really lack up here in the northeast and that is a really cool venomous snake Although I’m always running into that pathetic excuse for a reptile the garter snake Hotwater
i read the other day something about a 17 foot snake loose in maine though.. http://www.bangordailynews.com/detail/109826.html Giant snake spotted in Rumford canal By The Associated Press RUMFORD, Maine — The Maine Warden Service is looking into two sightings of a giant snake in the Rumford canal system. Police told the Sun Journal of Lewiston that two people contacted them Wednesday saying they'd seen a monster snake — perhaps up to 17 feet long — enter the canal system behind a local store. Snake expert Robbie White told the paper that based on the description, the snake could be a red-tail boa constrictor or a Burmese python. He said snakes in Maine don't grow to that size, unless it was a pet that escaped. A spokeswoman said anybody spotting the animal should contact the warden service.
Could be but it's probably some publicity hound who’s seen too many episodes of Monster Quest on the History Channel Hotwater
I saved a snake the other week from getting hit by a truck. The guy cussed at me calling me stupid. It was a damn king snake, nothing to be afraid of. I just chased it into the woods. If the snakes get in the yard I just get the water hose and spray the snakes with water until they slither off in the woods. Copperheads and water moccasins are all over the place out here because of the swamp. The guys that work for the power company hate trimming trees out here because of the copperheads staying in the trees. I never knew they did that until I heard a high pitched scream....one of the workers had a copperhead fall on him. He about killed himself trying to get away from the snake.
ew. I aint touchin it. I have small dogs. The smallest is only 15 lbs. I just want them to be safe. Dont want any of my kids to get hurt.
