ahh yes, i should have had the surgery to remove my wisdom teeth whilst still on my parents health insurance. among many other things.
    live and learn.
well theese teeth are forcing their way through my gums and its getting a little crowded
does anyone know if i can get cheap insurance to pay for it, then drop the insurance? or is that......fraudulent....? all the fyckin leagal mumbo jumbo just makes me wanna quit it, plus they're like halfway in, so it'd prolly be a preexisting condition, which aren't covered.....humph.
help! im confrustrated by all the conflicting info i try so hard to pick through...

How crowded are they? Sometimes the wisdom teeth will poke partway out of the gum, but never emerge all the way. Some dentists recommend removal, but it's really unnecessary. Unless they are causing you pain (with the exception of minor pain from the eruption that goes away after a while), they don't need to come out.

I have had "impacted" wisdom teeth for over a year, and they're fine.

ive always had insurance thru my employer but i *think* that if you do it independantly you will be required to sign on for a certain amount of time like with car insurance. some insurance plans will only pay for things like wisdom teeth removal after you have been with them for a certain amount of time......call a few up and get a free quote. had i not had insurance my wisdome teeth removal would have cost me $1600. (my insurance paid $1000). but its worth it to get them out if they are causing you pain and many times wisdom teeth with little room to come in will cause bacteria infections in your molars and only end up costing you MORE money down the line when you have to go in for other dental work. i waited a long time to get mine out and it caused an infection so bad that i had to have root canal which was another thing that was over $1000.

I'm not sure where you live, but here in Ontario Blue Cross Basic Blue coverage really helped me out after I outgrew my parent's insurance. I think I paid about $40/month. Once I'd reached my limit for coverage I simply called to cancel my plan. No hassles.

Check it out if you haven't already.

I'm going to get dental work done in Mexcio. There are lots of Canadian and American dentists practicing in down south and its waaaaaay cheaper.

yaya , my cousin did that in mexico for cost reasons . she says it didn't turn out so well due to the wham-bam-good-bye-mam thing . seems they pull the teeth and pop in some dentures too fast . the dentures don't fit so well after awhile because the gums hadn't adapted yet . maybe be aware of that and you'll do ok .

Erm, if its just extraction and and not full on dentures it should be O.K. I've got to get a root canal if I want to save my molar. Ouch....Maybe I should bet my wisdoms extracted too theyve been popping in and out for about a year now.
