It's no different for weed. Or really any high, be it chemical or from activity. Addiction can occur with coffee, weed, heroin, cocaine, television, food, sex, and likely from any part of the human experience. Addiction is present in some level in nearly all people; only careful, but constructive and reasonable evaluation of one's life and how best to achieve one's goal (i.e. one's unique potential for learning and growth) while at the same time promoting a society where people have the choice between mediocrity and personel achievement. Addiction to society and and unwillingness to change (or the irrational avoidance of society simply to be different) is probably far more damaging to humans, both individual and collective than any chemical dependence.

Ya i was a dick before for absolutly no reason, i guess i was just bored? But im over that shit. Anyways, i was wrong in the title of my thread. Weed CAN be just as bad as crack or heroin, its all about moderation. If your daily thoughts consist of getting blazed all the time, and your whole like revolves around weed, then i believe its a problem. Life really has so much more to offer. If loved ones see your life going down the drain because of weed and you dont have the knowledge to figure that out yourself, then you really have to be open minded and really try to use weed in moderation. We werent born blazed for a reason people, we were born what we call sober. So that is our natural state we SHOULD be in. Now im still going to smoke weed and have fun and shit, but if it gets in the way of what REALLY counts in this lifetime, i believe its time for a change. Thats all.

"drugs make our boring lives more interesting"

the way i see it, over time, drugs tend to make sober life all the more unique, quirkier, so regular that it's almost bizarre. new. a trip, if you will

but then again, that's because there is in all actuality a limitless amount of things you can do with your life. endless. vast. anything you want to do.

that combined with the fact that as the day passes, you're writing your own book, your own narrative. thinking every minute. pausing and starting again every second. tick. tock.

time moves so quickly, and yet, every moment is eternal.

life is anything and everything you do. you are.

take it all in, because really, it's gonna last a long time.

its easy to say get a grip... its a lot harder for and addict to even realize they have a problem and once they do, its even harder to get control of their habit. Thats no excuse of course, but they didnt choose to become addicted...

They either werent smart enough to know the dangers of the drug they were taking or they chose to do it so much they became addicted. So yes, they kinda chose the life they live.

I am lucky I have had really good parents...they barley drink. my mom has a glass of wine every month and my dad takes 6 months to drink a 6 pack (always some fancy #### too).

I on the other hand smoke weed three times a day (if money and dealer are good) and now I feel sorta guilty :(.

I look at like this, if weed puts you in a circle of never-ending lies, then quit. Its not worth it. You dont wanna be a shady bastard. Well, i dont atleast. Latley, ive been lieng alot to my parents about it, which is starting to make me think.

That's why I have always been upfront about my tokage.....everyone knows I get high as fuck. I am even open about it at my jobs; At one of the jobs I had, I even wore a hat with a big potleaf on it everyday to work. My boss was just like, "I don't care what you do on your own time, but don't come to work stoned". He didn't mind the hat at all. Honesty is always the best policy; the more you lie about it, the bigger the problem will be and it will make people look down on you for it even more, jst because it carries the stigma of lies and deceit.

Exactly. I respect that man. Like if your mom(for us youngins) gives you money JUST for food or something, you gotta respect that man. Dont go behind her back and spend the money on weed. If you get allowence or something like that and its YOUR cash, then hell do w/e you want, but lieng for weed money, is just not cool in my book. And guys, i might be saying alot of shit that we as a people SHOULD do, but trust me, if anyone, i have the biggest problem doing the things i know is right. So plz dont come off thinking that i believe im perfect in any way with the opinions im sharing. I have to practice these acts probably more than anyone. Im just stating what i believe is right. Know what i mean?

    smokindude,
I don't often post on these forums but I lurk sometimes. What you said really holds truth and if a majority of drug users had these sentiments, the world would be a much better place for both drug users and non-users alike. Your words hold much wisdom. Thank you for imparting it on all of us and don't ever forget what life is really about.

I did the same. My dad choose alchol, sex,& gambling over me when I was young. He still is the same way- 29 fuckin years later. He's 56 fucking 27 y.o. These girls are younger then me. I'm gonna stop ranting now as I could fill a whole page about what I learned not to do from my family. And smokindude- I give you much respect now. Keep your head up.;)
