The smell of freshly baked scones will always remind me of my late MIL. The smell of chocolate cake my late Mother. My son says that the smell of my perfume will always remind him of me when he was small and sprayed nearly a whole bottle all over my room. Do you have any particular smells that evoke memories of anything?
For me, that is the smell of Eau the Cologne. And reminds me of my grandmother. She always had some it in her purse with her. It is famous for its typical smell.
When I left home to try and be less crazy in the late nineties, my friend had an apartment in Denver. He used nag champa to make the apartment smell nicer. It always reminds me of autonomy and freedom and young adulthood.
I also think the smell of babies is something, that if we could bottle it, we would make a mint. I think that of all baby animals too. Maybe not pigs.lol
I was biking a few weeks ago and as I passed this house, I was suddenly overwhelmed by the odor of honeysuckle. When we were kids we would suckle on the nectar of the flowers. Don’t remember exactly why, but we did.
Tabu perfume. Grammy wore that, she was a fun person always cracking jokes and correcting my language useage (she was an editor at Random House Books). Reminds me of order out of chaos.
The smell of the air when it first starts raining. You can smell the dust being filtered out by the rain.
The smell of a freshly cut and raked hay field. Reminds me of all the times my dad and I helped my cousin and uncle do their haying.
