I have a few canabis plants in a bush like area, And over the past week i have noticed small holes apearing. That are only thru the top layer of the leaf. around all of the sites whare these holes are apearing it beging to turn a bright yellow. I have never encountered something like this with any type of plant so im a bit spooked out...is there any posibility my plants may be in need of a pesticide? because i would prefer not to use any if possible. Any help would be greatly apreachiated....
The most likely cause is bugs. Use a mg. glass and closely examine both sides of the leaves. Look for anthing that ain't green. If bugs are the cause, use an safe insecticide (neem oil, insecticidal soap). Another cause may be a nutrient imbalance. To deal with this throughly flush the soil (lots of plain water over the next few waterings).
Pretty much all i give them is normal water....I had given them some estrogen in the last watering and thats it since the first 2 weeks of veg when i had used ferts once. and to combat the "bugs?" i sprayed the plant down with a water and dish soap mixture should this help?
Hey don't give your plants human sex hormones dude. I don't know what your soap-to-water ratio was. You only need a few drops per gal. of water. Use dishwashing soap (like DAWN).
Dude i have given my plants sex hormones before.....i once grew 6 plants 2 i treated with the hormone and the other 4 w/o the 2 that were given it were atleast twice as big as the other four when harvest came....so i dont see any harm in doing so again.
I can assure you beyond a shadow of a doubt that if the plants you put human sex hormones on grew bigger, it wasn't because of the hormones. I mean c'mon think about it. If human sex hormones increased plant size/yield even 10%, don't you think that everyone would be doing it? Yet few if any are. Why do you suppose this is? Origin Of The Myth: In the early 80's, someone wrote in to Ask Ed's column in High Times and claimed using birth control pills increased his ratio of female-to-male plants (more girls). It doesn't, btw. So people would try it, and a few claimed it worked, just like some people will swear drinking bong water gets them high. But aside from beginners, no one does it. I have more than a passing knowledge of plant biology, and human sex hormones do not affect either the sex or growth rate or bud yield of marijuana. If fact, you're the only person I've EVER seen claim it increased yield. I'm not getting down on you amigo, simply stating facts.
hey man its all good...it was just something i tryed out of bordem and it seemed to work....maybe the seed company mixxed my seeds up and gave me a few that were of better quality who knows..all i know is that i saw it work...
