So, I'm going back to the dreads, I've heard their sweet siren song and I miss them so much.

I had dreads all through highschool, twisted, maybe 3/4 inch circumference so not so fat - if I whipped my head, they would flop around like a sweet mop (the novelty of my hair actually moving when I moved my head didn't get old at any point).

Now I want to go smaller when I go back. I'm not sure if people come around here saying this often, but I'm going to take a go at a Kele Okereke-like style - dreads up top, and keeping the sides relatively short and undreaded. I'm pretty sure I can pull it off.

What I wanna know is, how would I best achieve these results? I may have had dreads, but I was pretty clueless back then and sort of just let the woman do what she was doing, and then rocked them without a second thought for a few years.

I do, I'm half black, but my hair is relatively tight considering.

I'm probably looking at dropping a fair sum of cash on those dreads aren't I?

geez can u play with your hair? if so u can twist them mindlessly every now and then and in nmo time they will dread totaly free
dont ever ever ever go pay for dreads you will only be ripped off
salon dreads make a mess on purpose then try to scam u over and over for repeated tightening and mainatanance
before u wise up u can payu over 1000 ..or more if your dumb

    simple free instructions

pinch a lil hair twist a few times..move on to another pincxh..repeat
\dont worry bout making it tight or neat
1st 3 weeks or so repeat that once a week maybe (doesnt even have to be conceise just doping it withouit thinking is fine)
after 3 weeks see how thewyre progressing if they hold shape ..leave em be if they tend to unravel alot retwist every 2-3 weeks

afro type hair though can dread very veryt fast very short
1/8 inch of hair can dread in 2 weeks flat

    alternately
dont do nothing at all except rip em into tiny thin sections as it dreads
goping naturaly this way shouldnt take any longer in your haitr type maybe a week slower if anything
the only difference is a slight difference in control

twisting is generaly not that dammaging but can be overdone and can lead to dread breakage when done to the extreme..so less is best in al;l things dready

just twist weekly until they start staying twisted on their own. i think you may see some matting occur after the first 6 weeks, then you can decide how often you want to twist. my man twists his only once a month if that.

alright, well I'm going to grow my hair out for the next month, maybe two and at the end of that period, I'll start twisting. that should result in dreads starting out at about 2inches, twisted. I'll post my journey up on here when it beginsss
