    We're getting a community market at the historic ferry tavern this spring. About 20 vendors representing arts, crafts, and farm goods will be represented.

    The Anne Frank topic reminded me...the book was mandatory to read when I was in elementary school, and then optional. The current administration recently dropped it entirely from the curriculum, for I don't know what reason.
    A lot of other good books too, like The Little Prince, Sadako wants to live/The day of the Bomb, Alice in Wonderland, The Paul Street Boys (always one of my favorites)....

    As Boston College continues its legal fight against the city’s efforts to take Webster Woods by eminent domain, Mayor Ruthanne Fuller disputed accusations the action will be costly to city residents.

    Jack Dunn, Boston College school spokesman, said in a statement that the 17.4-acre land taking would “burden Newton taxpayers and come at the expense of 28 community projects vying for CPC
    (Community Preservation Committee) funding.”

    The City Council at its Dec. 2 meeting will likely vote on whether to approve $15,740,000 in community preservation funds to buy the woods. Boston College originally purchased the 25-acre property
    (which includes the 17.4-acre Webster Woods) at 300 Hammond Pond Parkway from Congregation Mishkan Tefila in 2016.

    They finally caught the arsonists that burned down the historic covered bridge right down the road.

    Took them five years, but they got 'em.
    Turns out they were two 14 and 15 year old boys.

    The bridge was built in 1889, it took five years and $966,000 to rebuild.

    Ranky Tanky (band members Quiana Parler, Quentin Baxter, Kevin Hamilton, Clay Ross, and Charlton Singleton) will be at the WKCTC Clemens Fine Arts Center in Paducah, KY on February 8th at 7:30 pm. They play jazz mixed with something called Gullah music (I had to Google). Their debut album peaked at number one on Billboards jazz chart.
