Is there anything I could take that would 'put me out' for 24-48 hours straight? I need some sleep, deep sleep. I, generally, only sleep for a few hours at at a time.

I dunno, how expensive are GP visits there? and how conservative is yours with prescribing drugs?

I can go to mine and just say hey im having shit sleep and get some zopiclone or something no problem

I've only been once in the past six years.

I'll give it a go. [IMG]

Detox from something... lol.. not suggested but yea that's the only times I've slept for pretty much 24-72 hours straight.

Well, it's to try and give myself a bit of a detox. I look/feel like I've been awake for the past 6 years. I've dramatically cut back on my alcohol intake (weight loss), but I seem to be losing out on sleep, so not so many benefits yet.

If you wanna lose weight go on a liquid diet. Drink alcohol for kilojoules, drink protein shakes during the day, take a multivitamin.

    Food is the devil.

I'm having trouble with sleep too.
and yea, detoxes of all kinds can either make a person sleep a lot or not be able to sleep...luckily for me I've been lucky and have been able to sleep thru stuff like that..
but I mean this aint gonna make you sleep for 24-48 hrs, but have you tried melatonin? and cutting out coffee if you drink it?

What If I tell my GP that I have a massive drink problem, and it is impacting on my personal relationships - would that help him/her decide if they were to prescribe zopiclon? Lol, a 'booze diet'? Mmm, as tempting as that sounds, I do have to function and get things done. I'm past the point where I can't bounce back so quickly. I'm just left indefinitely haggered.
My kidneys/liver/heart need a break after 20 years of torture.
Although, I might kinda give it a go.
As long as I feel full, I'm ok.

    True.

...apart from chips n cheese (and perhaps bacon for others)

Uhh, I'm not sure. If you're drugseeking its probably best not to mention alcohol abuse. I know with zopiclone it - i'm currently drunk & I forget the word - when two drugs interact and 'boost' each other, it does that with alcohol, so they recommend you don't mix them.

Although you have a great time when you do and then a great long sleep afterwards so my self-destructive hedonist advice is to mix :punk:

But just go and complain about insomnia, say its been ages since youve had a decent sleep and it takes you hours to drift off, you don't take caffeine or other stimulants, blahblah. As long as you don't come across like a drugseeking junkie I'm sure you'd get something to help you lol

I have not had any coffee for ages. Just hot orange juice. Too much sugar?
I have not tried melatonin. It's not so much getting to sleep, or sleeping - it's the amount of sleep. I want MORE. Like TWICE the amount. I generally get around 5 hours sleep. So I feel like I permanently have 'sleep debt'.
It hasn't helped that it has been hotter than hell recently, and I've had a touch of hayfever.

Maybe they'll give you Ambien and you could end up sleep driving. :2thumbsup:

If you just force yourself to lay in bed longer after the 5 hours or whatever that you would normally wake up you might fall back to sleep and if not, resting is better than nothing if you just end up laying there with your eyes shut.
But you know, if you end up laying there thinking about how much you NEED MORE SLEEP... then you will never get more sleep... I hate it when I have sometimes laid there so worried about falling asleep.. it's the worst thing to do and never happens then.. in that case, either one of them-I'd suggest getting up first and reading something boring for 20-30 mins and then going back to sleep.

Oh and if you got a hold of Seroquel you'd sleep forever. A friend of mine was rx'd them and gave me some once and I told a half of a pill (not sure the mg) and I couldn't move off the bed. That shit knocked me out and I was comatose for a long time.. heavy, heavy, heavy... I don't really like that stuff though except for one purpose, if you really needed to sleep n a lot of it and nothing else works..

I wasn't being that serious
If I go and complain, I may just get over the counter crap.
I think it will help if I mention the drug you mention.

I'm too sleepy to remember that word ;)

Synergistic effect? Combined drug intoxication (CDI), also known as multiple drug intake (MDI) or lethal polydrug/polypharmacy intoxication?
