I've tried to search this issue online and everything I find is about helping babies who have problems going to sleep...this is not the case for me..I have a toddler and a 4 month old at home so napping during the day not usually an option..I've been exclusively breastfeeding but she doesn't sleep more than 2 hours in a row ever..and sometimes less than that..I haven't been able to sleep more than a few hours in a row in over 4 months and am very very tired. Last night I broke down and tried to give her some baby cereal but it didn't change anything..she was still up almost every hour...looking forward to hearing some wisdom of others who have been there and maybe know how to change this pattern??

its because you breastfeed. My son is a toddler and he still breastfeeds and he still doesn't sleep through the night, although we have come a long way from the waking every 2 hours days. There is no real solution here, you just have to wait for it to pass. I highly recommend pumping some bottles and getting an all night babysitter one night so you can get a break.

Doctors say a baby won't sleep all night until its stomach is big enough to hold enough to keep it satisfied that long.

Does the baby sleep with you?

When they are that dependent on feedings, it's easier to have them in your bed. You can nuzzle the baby in for a feed without having to get up.

I know the breastfeeding is the culprit..this is my third child..all breastfed but never went through this..other two were sleeping most of the night by 6 months but even before that they only got up maybe once or twice..heard the third child is full of surprises but was not expecting this

No co sleeping and I hope it'll stay that way but sometimes it seems like the only option to get some sleep

All children are different and have different needs. Maybe a little sleep for you and some extra momma time for baby are needed. You can straighten out the sleeping arrangements when everyone is feeling better.

At this point she has gotten so used to falling asleep on her own that trying to sleep with her doesn't really work anymore anyways
