Hey everybody, thanks for taking the time to read this. I often work in dusty conditions and I get lots of dirt build up in my sinuses. It clears up after a few days off with lots of showers thrown in. What I was wondering is if there is a way to clean out my sinuses every day. Most of the dust comes from warehouses and factories so I'm sure it can't be good for me. I've tried using a nedi pot, but I keep gaging. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, I don't know. Any info you provide will be greatly apreciated.
Use a squeeze spray bottle (available over the counter in drugstores) or an eyedropper to instill the solution in the nostrils, one side at a time.
The netti pot is the first thing that comes to mind. It can be a little scary the first few times kind of like getting a lot of water in your nose at the pool. You know how when you swim underwater you have to contract those muscles at the back of your throught to keep fom choking. Try doing that. You wouldnt believe what comes out. maybe think about wearing a mask or tying a bandana over your nose & mouth like the cowboys would do. I know you might look kind of silly but you really dont want that stuff getting up in there in the first place. Good Luck.
It turns out that my boss is pretty cool. I told him about the conditions and he bought everyone in the company a respirator and our parts department has plenty of replacement filters.
Save some of those old filters incase you ever come down with lung problems later in life. Might mean some worker's comps, etc. x
I absolutely love my nedi pot the reason why your gaging is because your breathing threw your mouth close your mouth and try not to breath and take a brake between pooring to take a breath and once you get it down you will fall in love just like i did
yeah, keep trying with the neti pot....once you get the hang of it, you will love it! you could also do some stream inhalations with eucalyptus leaf or essential oil added to the water. this is GREAT for opening up the nasal passages & clearing sinus congestion
