Im Singing In The Rain, Just Singing in The Rain..What a glorious feeling, im happy again...=] This movie was made in 1952 and the legendary Gene Kelly stars in it. It's one of my favourite Childhood films ever, second to Bed knobs and Broomsticks of course. If you have seen it, tell me what you like about it and what your favourite parts where and stuff.=]
loved that movie!!! whenver they'd go somewhere on the bed the effects were nice and wasn't it the 1st film w/effects like that?
Yeah i think so.. And don't you love the way the people like Gene used to dance and sing? Gene was an exceptional dancer. Wow.
i haven't seen singing in the rain since i was a kid but the one scene [which is the name of the movie] i do remember
yeah, my parents dragged me to this movie and the sound of music... their both shit. uke: as rule i hate musicals. i love rocky horror and cannibal! the musical. :cheers2:
I’ve never actually seen the movie; but I was introduced to it through the eyes of Léon played by Jean Reno in the movie the Professional (1994) who was mesmerized by it. Hotwater
I still watch it from time to time (have the DVD), as well as American in Paris. Gene Kelly is the best dancer I've ever seen. Yes, I've seen Astaire in a few movies, but although graceful, he lacks Kelly's energy and power of expression in my opinion.
I absolutely agree. I prefer Gene too. "Power of expression" is a perfect way of putting it. He was more innovative too I found.
Walking? Try dancing next time! Here, you can practice the steps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1ZYhVpdXbQ
I love this thread. I can talk about Gene all night! How about this one? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aus1PA5-SyI"]Gene Kelly tap dancing on roller skates - YouTube
Great clips, thanks! Gene's rain dance always puts me in a good mood. I hadn't seen him on roller skates, Lucy.
That's a great one, Lucy! Here's another one for you, one of my favourites. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPs_tBlCe8E
Thank you, I enjoyed that, Christinabelle. Basil, I can barely stand on rollerskates, let alone dance on them so I always marvel at that dance. Although I did rollerskate as a kid. Maybe I should start it up again. I might make it to Gene's level!
