who here sings? i do and my voice just plain sucks in the mornings sometimes. why? anyone else have this prob? anybody wanna share their formulas/potions/etc for soothin your voice if ya know what i mean??
I luv to sing... I'm a show-dog. My voice is pretty rough in the morning... nothing a little coffee can't fix
probably just sip on some hot tea with a squirt of lemon. how would you describe your voice, beach bum?
well i would describe my singin style as rough. by that i mean i do a lotta throat hollering. i dont know how else to describe this. ever listen to disturbed or mudvayne. kinda like that cept ima girl (by that meaning my voice is softer) of course so it is somewhat different. i love gettin all into it and i just use my voice to let everything inside all out. do you get what i mean, am i makin sense? what about you??
i wish i had more of that throaty rasp... but my voice has been described as 'sweet.' dammit!! *giggle* i do let my voice ring out when i sing the blues, though... i have this one blues song i wrote... man, i LOVE to get into it!!!! i wish i had more janis, less joni... but it's all good, i suppose. at least i can carry a tune
yehh, oh man i would luvv to hear your voice. espeically singin the blues...wow! sometimes i just luv listening live to just a voice one of these days were gonna have to record ourselves and send it to each other
I love singing, and won a singing contest, singing Roadhouse Blues. Any song'll do, ceptin most country. RnB, Blues, jazz, 50's-now, metal, rap, folk, dance, world.......it don't matter. And I love it when anyone else sings, it just lights me up. The most tonedeaf, flat, raspy, crackly, shaky voice is like angels to me, just cuz they are singing. Well its 40 below and I dont give a fuck got a heater in my truck and I'm off to the rodeo. OOOOOh I need a dirty woman........ She's got a way about her, don't know what it is. Till then just sit your drunk ass on that fuckin runway....... My love is wider, wider than Victoria lake I aint lookin to fight with you, frighten you, or uptighten you...... Two minutes to midnite.....
I'm a singer and I have no problems singing in the mornings, I don't know why, I guess I got used to it when I led worship for a contemporary church on Sunday mornings. I have more of a Gillian Welch or Joni Mitchell type of voice. It's also important that you sing on a regular basis. I have a gig twice a week so my voice stays 'primed'.
You know I'd love to hear you sing. I would LOVE it!!!!!! Sing me a song, you're a singer.......... Zippity doo dah, zippity aye............
Hey! I also have that problem sometimes in the morning. My suggestion would be tea with lemon and honey, and lots of water. And make sure you spend plenty of time warming up. Also, I would skip the coffee (caffine tends to be dehydrating) and also not drink milk before you sing as it can really thicken the mucus in the back of the throat. That's pretty much all the advice I can give you. Hope it helps! Happy singing! Laura
kindwoman that is great! you are one of lucky ones i guess blackguard youre great!! i imagine you havin a lotta energy!! thanks a lot Laura, its very helpful
im a jazz singer. before i do concerts or auditions, i take a very small amount of olive oil and drink it. its makes my voice all melodious and just.. coats my pipes. very awesome stuff.
my singing voice is getting better....i'm trying to sing and play at the same time...its tough at times. I think that with anything you can get it down with a lot of practice.
i have a mic... PM me your email addy and i'll sing a li'l something original for ya, girlie but you gotz to return the favor!!!
exactly... it takes coordination and concentration to sing and play together... but just keep practicing, SimpleMan, you'll get it down! hehe, it's impossible for me to sing and play... i can sing *into* my flute... which makes this wicked jethro tull-esque tone... that's always fun
