does anyone know anything about brick ovens? i want to learn how to assemble a simple, small brick oven for pizza. i'd like to be able to set it up and take it down relatively quickly, perhaps to sell brick oven pizzas after shows/during fests, but definitely for some backyard pizza. i'm hoping i can just pile some bricks, but i hear a dome shape might be involved, so i'm worried... does anyone know how to do what i need to do? and is it even possible, or will it have to be insanely complex? if this is in the wrong spot, feel free to move it. but i figure brick ovens are a way of sustaining outdoor living (even while you're camping) right?
you can look up plans online, maybe try a google search...I found quite a few last year when I was looking into makin my brick char-pit/fireplace, just can't remember any of the sites...you will also most likely need special brick for it, fire brick
look at our web site,,, it is an earth oven,, dome shaped and took three of us about 4 hours to construct,,,,, it is alot bigger than what we really needed and of course we have the attention span of gnats so we dont read destructions well ,,, instead we just winged it,,, but hey,,, it works great,,,, only thing is is that i would have some sort of bread rack or cake rack under the food while cooking,, to get a more even cooking,,,, it was our first attempt at makin somethin like that so it does have a few flaws,,, like a more permanent door than what we have ,,,, and it is huge,.,,, could cook an average size ten year old in it ...
