haven't read any counter opinions yet and am still watching it actually but this doesn't seem nearly as propoganda filled as Moore's prior work and it is quite alarming, whether dramatized or not makes quite a few good points (suprising, I know)
Holy shit! This, coming from you? No way! Haha, anyways thats cool. If it can (somewhat) impress a true hater of Michael Moore, its probably alright. I'll go see it soon, but I'm in no hurry.
I can't wait to miss it! I have learned all I need to know about that lying, distorting, disingenuous sack of shit Michael Moore after Bowling for Columbine. Check out http://www.hardylaw.net/Truth_About_Bowling.html It debunks his bullshit movie. If you consider yourself open to TRUTH, instead of loyal to a certain person or mindset, check out that link and find out how Michael Moore pulled the wool over your eyes and everyone else's -- garnering an OSCAR for a film that was actually a FRAUD, not a documentary.
How do you know what's on the site I mentioned? I hadn't fixed the link yet. Now it's been edited and is ready to take you to the site that shreds his bullshit insinuations about guns, gun owners, gun ownership and the NRA.
no, I meant I know all about his lies and deceit but actually, that's the same site I prefer to link people wto wehn trying to show Moore's fans how horrible he really is
fallacies or not he is good at 1) presenting stories about TRUE people that are affected by this shit and 2) creating conversation... how's this for a story...I know the brother of the guy that died in Kansas City because the insurance wouldn't pay for his procedure. I interviewed the brother (Steddy) for a project I'm doing on hip hop (he emcee's here in Columbia) and he was telling me about it back in February. I didn't realize the guy they were talking about in the movie was Steddy's brother until a picture of Steddy and his brothers flashed across the screen. Then I put to and two together, checked the transcript of my interview to compare last names and nearly shat myself. It's insane how they treated dude... I love the people that come in here to comment on the movie before watching it. People did the same thing with Fahrenheit 9/11. I don't get it.
This movie was REALLY good, even if you hate Michael Moore. Of all the stuff he's put out, this definatley is his "Crowning Achievment".
I didn't know either but I saw some thread on here, linking to a stream of it, so I watched it thinkging "better do it before they take it down"
I just went and watched an early showing of it. Go and see it. It crosses party lines. Come on people. France is kicking our ass in health care. Where are the pro-americans on this one?
I saw an early showing too. I am amazed at all the services in France, I knew about the 35 workweek and vacation time but wow, it is just so much more advanced than the US.
i like this concept behind this movie poor people should not get healthcare weed em out of the population for a more productive society bush is a genius!
you are dumb the movie/the current healthcare system has very little to do with Bush under Bush, only old people got extra-fucked
The current healthcare system is an invention of a man named Kaiser. Heard of Kaiser Permenente? It was started under the Nixon administration. But we can't just blame the healthcare industries. Moore even says that. It is against the law for a company to not look out for the best interests of its shareholders. And the only way insurance companies can do that is to turn people away. The system is set up for people to get fucked.
I'm actually excited and yet a bit apprehensive about watching this movie. I think I'll be seeing it tomorrow...
I lied. I didn't catch it today. Tomorrow, for sure!!! I'm actually looking forward to it for a different kind of reason. The air conditioning in the theatre. If I don't go, there is a chance I might get heat exhaustion and I don't have medical insurance. OH NO! hehe
From what I've heard, Canadas health-care is over-rated... Still, free health-care owns no health care anyday.
