Does anyone have any tricks to stretching out t-shirts (length wise). The tightness does not bother me, but now most of my favorite t's come up passed my belt line in the back and sides. I'm sure some of the mommies out there have experience with this. Help me mommy!

Im no mommy, but i can tell this is a sign that you have been doing your own laundry, but not for very long! As a dude, I have been there, and I feel ya.

It also means you have been drying your shirts in the dryer for too long and maybe too hot. Cut down the time your best shirts stay in the dryer.

To get em a little more life, wash them and let them hang dry. This will keep the dryer from shrinking them, beating the hell out of whatever is on them, and they will stretch abit as the water drips down from the top to the bottom of the shirt.

They wont be quite so soft, but it may stretch them out an inch or so and it will add a little more life to em by not making them any smaller.

If that dont work, there is always eBay in the next size up!
    Good luck man!

wear longer tanks underneath. i've got the long torso issue and when shirts are too small i make them look longer that way.

i use a low heat setting on the dryer. sometimes things are still damp, but then you just put them on a little longer. im very lackadaisical about laundry, which is why i stopped accepting fancy indian clothes from people as gifts (the delicate embroidery pulls out, bleaches out, and the dyes run all over town. i have green as well as brown socks that used to be white. argh)

the only way i could see to re-stretch a shirt would be to wet it, or wash it (duh, right? lol) and then hang it up, weight the bottom heavily and let it air dry. maybe clothespin some butter knifes to the bottom, or loosely stitch in some fishing weights.

if no more stretch is to be had from them, then make a tshirt quilt (don't let it scare you) so you can keep the cool shirts and logos, and still use them without having them take up space in a box. hubby has a ton of shirts, particularly motorcycle ride shirts, and he never wears them. i promised that one day he would have his own 'man cave' to decorate, and that i would make him a tshirt quilt of his design. wen i start working on it i'll post pictures.

and PS. i think that its a sorry reflection on parents who don't teach their kids this stuff growing up. my parents always said children are the last legal slave labor force in the US, and i am grateful for it now. i mean sure, my brother cooks better than me, but we can both get a meal on the table, and we were doing laundry at a young age too. my son is 3 now and he helps put stuff in the dryer. /end rant

just get them wet and stretch them back out, they're already kinda ruined, it couldnt hurt right? if you do this though try to kinda bunch it up and do the whole shirt at once, not sections at a time, that way it might come out more even.

first off wash all your tee's separately from the rest of your laundry. before putting them in the dryer twist each shirt tightly like you are wringing it out while stretching gently. then dry on the coolest setting or on delicate cycle until mostly dry. this works for me whenever i overdry mine and they shrink

I wash everything in cold. And then I only put it in the dryer for five minutes and then hang it to dry. Nothing of mine ever shrinks. =)
