I didn't know where to post this so Random it is.

What do your outdoor sheds look like? Here's a picture of ours so far (attachment). It's just the floor. We're trying to decide how we want the rest of it to look.

Here is what we like - although it will not be this fancy! Just an idea.

I think it's supposed to be a guest house.

I just like it for the exterior.

We have a small shed that we built. I'd love a garage, but there's no room.

We want to put a big pot leaf on the side in paint...
will probably settle for a big peace sign so not to attract any DEA agents thinking its a grow house.

    That's probably a good idea...

I'd like a shed that looked like it grew there, something really "back to the earth" looking.

Ours will be 12x16, it's just the foundation now. We may put a porch on it, not sure yet.

The plan is for a 12X20 with a hip roof and a loft next spring. Need enough room for a car and lawn equipment. And 400 ft of rough cut oak in the loft.

if i had a shed, which implies a place for a shed to be, i'd be living in it.
and if it weren't for building codes, and private land ownership, i would be.
i'd be building some kind of a shed or shack, where i wouldn't have to listen to someone else's television, right now this very moment, if i hadn't already done so, which i would have beginning years ago, if i lived anyplace where that would have been permitted.

mine best one is 12x12 with gable roof

i added 4 windows right into the roof for better lighting

to bypass building code/property tax laws i built it as portable...which means it just sits on pressure treated beams..and the walls are bolted together not nailed...the top plates are doubled up and bolted for easier disassembly...also the ridge beam is doubled up and bolted so that the roof can be removed in 2 pieces without doing damage to structure just the shingles will get damaged...the middle floor joist is also doubled up ...if i need to split to floor i just have to measure the halfway mark and run a skillsaw down the 3/4 plywood

    floor is 2x8s...walls are 2x4s...roof is 2x6s

My dad has a boat that looks like it grew there. You can barely see it due to the grape vines. It's probably garbage by now.

This is a good thread for me because I'm looking to build a screen-house in our forest. A place to relax, read a book, smoke a joint, and maybe have sex in.

what do you use a shed for?

for me it holds tools and parts that i cant leave outside...and in the winter i use it as a space where i can work on snowblowers and small items with a small heater going to keep warm....it only takes a few minutes for mine to warm up enough to take my coat off even if its -30c outside

My house is tiny and we're running out of room quick so a shed will be a necessity soon.

I haven't even thought about property codes, but we're renting so I guess it will have to be built as a portable anyways
