should self-defense classes really be open to EVERYBODY ???

I mean, if its more or less obvious that the girls that are offered to participate in such a class have the lowest imaginable social background (just to avoid the term "scum"...) and show, at least verbal, open agressiveness and violence even before beeing taught additional "tricks" ?

isnt this a little bit like offering AK-47s for free to everybody (maybe to people reading this in the US this doesnt sount that absurd, but believe me, to a european it does !)

Self-defense classes do not teach violence, they teach assertiveness and give people the knowledge and confidence to escape a situation if one occurs. i think he's suggesting that self defense classes aren't open to men. which is total nonsense. though i suppose that if the name of the group was "women who hate men and want to kick their baby slapping asses" then he should probably stay away and find a new one.
