Im eating some Pork ribs at work right now, tastes good.

If meat is bad for humans, would you like to see it banned?

Hell no meat is not bad for humans. Maybe factory farmed meat loaded with hormones and pesticides is, but meat that is organically and sustainably raised is very healthy.

Eating meat is a choice, and should remain a choice.

To go on a bit of a tangent, consider the overall population and health of large non-food mammals.

Banning the eating of cows won't do much good for the bovine community. If milk is added to the list of banned substances and it won't be long until the cow is on the endangered species list.

Ha, do you have any clue how many cows there are. It's crazy. Just like banning meat of course. If people could just use reason with their meat eating... but since less good meat is cheaper, easier and still regarded as tasty by many the wrong choice is easily made.

I don't ever think meat COULD be banned, there is too much $ involved for companies and governments. I would like to see CCTV in all abotoirs and zero tolerance for cruelty. If you eat meat that is a choice but banning it will never work.

    This.

Everything in moderation, but it's none of the government's fucking business to enforce that moderation.

Maybe new york can keep leading the way, in terms of telling people what they can eat. They banned big soda, now they could set a weight limit for steaks.....

Set a weight limit for people. If they get too heavy, send 'em to Jersey.

This goes back to the idea that it is bad karma to eat meat . The animal that meet came from may of been a dead loved one . Taking this a different direction , if it was the karma of the loved one to come back as an animal raised for food , then are you not helping them with there karma by eating them ?

How would eating them impact their karma in a positive way?

Meat - no. Fur - yeah, for the most part.
Whip, a more provocative thread would be if fur should be banned.

What about the fur from animals that have been processed for meat?

*struggles to thing of a furry animal widely used for its meat*

I guess it would only apply to hunted animals.

If it was there karma to come back as a food animal , them eating them would blance there karma . Not every one sees karma is the same way . Taking this in a different direction , a guy that does past life regressions , regressed people with eatting disorders . he found some of them had been a part of the Donner party http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Donner_Party . Some of them turned to cannibalism to stay alive . Some of the guilt of eating people came back to haunt them in there present life . One way of looking at karma .

As someone who up until recently loved meat, yes it should be banned. there's no reason for it, and if it was banned everyone would become vegetarians. I like the idea of ausing less harm with my diet.

I haven't eaten meat for over ten years. I'm healthy and happy but could never see it being banned. And as for potatoes being banned well you can get f@&??@d! I love potatoes!

    Why do you ask anyway?
