I got my hair dreaded (comb coils/twists) back in september and they're looking great, and the lady who does my hair did it for free since she knows my dad, so why not? She didn't use wax or anything so I know my hair isn't destroyed, but I'm moving away and won't be able to get my hair done by her anymore.

I don't really trust any other salon to do my hair for me so I'm gonna start doing it on my own, or at least cleaning it, but I still can't get my hair wet since some of my dreads haven't completely locked yet. Is dry shampoo good for dandruff and itchiness?

Not getting your hair wet is bullshit and gross.

Wash your hair. Fall-out happens with new dreads, suck it up.

There's a sticky at the top of the dread forum that says 'read this first'. Reading that will help you.

Some of them haven't completely locked yet, so if they get wet, some will poof up and untwist completely, and then they won't really be dreadlocks anymore. I've tried it before. Comb twists apparently require more maintenance than other methods,, which I've heard just about everywhere. They aren't new, some of them just locked faster/better than others.

    Thanks :)

Also, since I have never really met a biracial person (with thinner hair than africans) who have had twists made into dreadlocks, I'm not really sure how to keep them to stay twisted after it gets wet since it's so soft.
