Should I keep toking?

I'm trying to get a piddly little shit job around the county somewhere. Chances are that the plant nursery and other places I applied at aren't going to drug test. They didnt say it on the application, so I don't think they can do it. Or can they? .. well, I get the impression that they can still do it, but probably won't unless I act like what they think a druggy is.

What should I do? I love getting high but.. lol this makes me think of Towelie from SouthPark. Wanna get hiiiigh? Don't forget to bring a towel!

 

If it didn't say on the App then I'm pretty sure they can't drug test you.

Even if they did, who cares, there are plenty of shit jobs around. Is it 16 or 18 when you gain privacy with doctors from your parents? That would be my only worry in your situation.

 

Based upon how you described your current situation, I highly doubt they will drug test you. Most applications, at least for the job(s) you're applying for, will explicitly state if you have to subject yourself to a test. Lastly, if they DO, infact, drug test, they are legally obligated to test ALL of their employees. They cannot pick and choose certain ones, regardless of whether or not you look like a druggie. Well, see they have random drug tests at some workplaces and sometimes it isnt so "random"

when you go to apply for a job, ask them before you do anything if they drug test. if they say yes, say thanks and walk out. that's what I do. I just got a kick ass job at the local headshop....i didn't even ask them if they drug test....

 

Keep toking. If the job drug tests you, you don't want to work there anyway. Places that drug test are generally overly of the "corporate-world" mindset. Work somewhere with honest values. Values based on performance, not some baseless federal law.

 

Why in the fuck would you ask a HEADSHOP if they drug test? "Yes, I understand that you're in the business of selling bongs, pipes, bubblers, rolling papers, hemp, etc., but do you drug test?"

I worked for 2 and a half years at big 5 (a sporting goods store) and they said that they would randomly drug test, but I wasn't worried at the start of my employment there because I didn't smoke. I started midway through working there, and almost everybody there knew I smoked by the time I quit. I was never drug tested, the manager knew I smoked, he didn't care at all if I did, he just didn't want me comign to work high (which I did quite a few times, on accident). So, it can definately workout differently in different situations, for sure.
