I've never had a really big relationship with my grandparents either (hate to say it, but they were assholes on a good day)... The odd time that I did visit, I'd help with a chore or two around the house that they couldn't do... they always insisted on paying me for the whole visit, as if I needed to be paid to just show up... it was kind of insulting....

 

Its kind of a drop in the hat compared to tuition.

But lets put this in perspective - I don't care if you take it or not, but don't pull any self-justification bullshit. They don't owe you anything (presents, etc). If you take it, you're a thief, plain and simple.
