Should I be a Nudist?

Rosie the trailblazer! Good on you for taking the plunge and going au naturel.
Your little brother has some growing up to do; at 17, his behaviour is most unbecoming. I have a friend who has come from a nudist background since he was 10 I think; he's now 19 and absolutely all-at-home with nudity, even with his family (he is a casual photography assistant with me).

Do not go for option 3. Keep going and believe in yourself and what you are doing. Uni is a great place to find nudists; have continued long friendships with nudists I met at uni in the early 1990s "remember...when we were all younger and funkier?", LOL!

 

It would have been very surprising if her little brother saw her sister naked and found it normal. Especially since she normally wears clothes, you cannot call him for his reaction or call him imature for it.

well each to their own, but Personaly, I have always been of the view if you want to do something better to do it quickly, don't give the doubts and fears time to form up properly, it'll only be harder in the end, that being said i'm not advocationg you do what i did, might not be the right approach for you where family is concerned if you are nervous about it, but maybe you should find some friends who share this interest in nudity or join a club, either way you really should pursue it, it is well worthwhile.

and rak, who'd have thunk it, we actually agree, I know I was dropping my brother in at the deep end and his reaction was only natural, and with hindsight probably only to be expected, but although i don't blame him for it, it still made me uncomfortable at the time, although he has improved a lot since I started being naked all the time, now he doesn't bat an eyelid when i'm nude, and has even on occasion showered openly when I was in the bathroom without overmuch embarrasment, although that still ocasionally leads to,... certain unfortunate biological functions, especially when i'm in the bath, although he is getting better all the time.

 

Personally, I have to applaud your attitude towards it, Rosie. I've long wanted to take that jump, but have never felt that I was in an environment where I could, particularly around my parents. I'm out of the house now, staying with a friend until I get my own place. I teasingly brought it up to the friend, and they basically shrugged at the concept, saying it wouldn't bother them, but as I'm relying upon their hospitality at the moment, I don't think I could do that to them. Particularly since they're a married woman.

When I do get my own place though... I intend to spend as much time possible in the buff! Yes, there's a degree of arousal from exhibition for me. There's also the pleasure of just being bare. It's a pleasant feeling.

I know nudity comes easier for those raised nude their entire childhood, but you are obviously not too old to make a change for the better in your life.

I love the feeling of total immersion in the natural world, the wind, the rain, sun, the feel of grass and trees as I walk about like one of God's woodland creatures (well, I am!)

It's nice that you've got kindred spirits in your town who will give you a word of encouragement when you need it (and maybe a place to swim).

When I lived in a cold part of America, I was in a club that went swimming nude once a month in a rented athletic club. It felt wonderful to peel off all those layers and layers of clothes until I got down to the real me. (they kept the club house nice and warm).
