my mossberg 835 with a 3 1/2 mag with 00 will do the job just the same

My shotgun tastes are very shallow in the below $300 range.

I like the Winchester 1300 it is cheap shoots straight and brakes down into about 8 pieces.

I hate a shout gun that you can't field clean like a Mossenburg you take them apart and they turn to like 50 pieces and springs and parts go fling everywhere.

My brother had one of the 3 1/2s all I remember was it was too many pieces to field clean and he would always put in a 3 ½ before he gave it to me so my shoulder would be sore by the end of the day.

that they do, even with the ported barrel

my dad has one of the older mossberg 500's without the ported barrel, and the 3 inchers about knock you on your ass

about the same as the 3 1/2's in the 835

not to mention the thing is light as a feather, synthetic stock, I think my 835 only weighs about 7 pounds, a bit more fully loaded obviously

I'm pretty fond of my bolt action Marlin Goosegun, however, My Mossberg is actually more practical. I used to have a Remington assault shotgun but my sis traded it for a retarded dog.

I have a remington 1100 that used to be reliable, it jams up way too easy anymore

and for any type of close range defenses, my 835 would ahniliate anything within 60 or so yards of me. thats my weapon of choice every time. sure I can shoot em far off with my rifle, but the shotgun is just so much more personal and it really gets you close to your victim and you get to see the expression on their face for that split second when they see the muzzle blast and before their head disintegrates.

I have a 20 ga/22LR combo. Good for small and large game.

I also have an Arisaka model 99 in 7.7mm. The Japanese used it to drop men, I use it to drop deer.

I have the .222 over 20..... it used to be my grandfathers many years ago, I'm not sure I've ever shot the .222 barrel. The 20 I know I did a couple years ago

my dad has some sort of jap rifle, it might be that one, the bolt is broken on it, or it was the last I saw it, he was working on it. he told me it was worth a lot of money, and told me what it was, but i have no idea now what he said.

but from what I remember, it didn't look exactly like that, the stock went almost up to the end of the barrel, further than that one

Arisakas go for $400 max at gun shows. $750 if the have the bolt dustcover and a matching bayonet from the same forge. And if the bolt is fouled its work about $100. I had three of them, found them in the attic of a house we were doing clean for content. Two of them still had the Chrysanthemum on the barrel, meaning they were still the property of the Emperor and were taken off dead Japanese soldiers.
