so ya at my local grocery store, i have easily stolen like 300 bucks worth of shit in the last few months. I mean the fn stores so big its like u cant get caught. I tried shoplifting from cvs one time this year and got caught. It was on halloween night tho.
I dont feel that proud or anything, its just fn funny how easy it is in this store.
I need shop lifters anonymous or some shit.
Obviously wouldnt do it so much if i had a job. Any other guilty fucks?

    $300? Is that all?

I don't condone shoplifting.. at big stores it does affect everyone. Like people who steal from walmart do have a direct correlation with the costs doing up in security and security devices, minimal, but there.

I've stopped being friends with people for shoplifting.. after I went to a mall with a friend and we got back to her house only to find out that she somehow managed to stuff like $1500 worth of stuff into her tiny purse. I didn't go too many places with her after that.

She's done it on multiple occasions.. I'd say she's stolen well over $10k worth of stuff. But then she got caught stealing a whoopee cushion from a dollar tree. Where was her head at

apparently stealing from the mall is super easy. when i lived in the dorm back in college, there were a couple guys on my floor that used to walk through the mall and just blatantly pick stuff up off the displays and walk away with it. i don't know how many times they did this, but i know they did it on multiple occasions, and never got caught.

personally, i think it's an asshole thing to do. not as bad as stealing from an individual, but still an asshole thing to do.

You'd think stealing from a mall would be harder than it is.. considering it costs like $200 to get a pair of jeans from there.. but the local thrift store has cameras everywhere and like 25 'shoplifters will be prosecuted' signs and beepers at the entrances over a $3.50 pair of jeans

maybe part of the reason malls are so expensive is because so much shit gets stolen from them.

Be careful of big stores. I worked for a big safeway and we had undercover security daily. Was only 1 person at a time but they would walk the store like a customer and caught many people stealing, including employees. After awhile you could pick out which ones they were because of only putting boxed food in their cart and they are in their for quiet some time.

I stole single beers all the time when i worked there, but that was when the store was closed at 2am and i pounded everything in the freezer.

The bigger the store does not mean a better chance of always getting away. Watch yourself.

The Global Retail Theft Barometer 2011

Do items actually cost more in supermarkets? I thought the argument was that the low prices were forcing smaller retailers out of business.
Looking at the link above - the average 'shinkage' (for one reason or another) is 1.5%

6 Aug 2012 – NEW YORK — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. reported a 5.7 percent increase in second-quarter net income and raised its outlook for the full year.

Do you think Wal-Mart (for e.g) are worried about a little bit of 'shrinkage'?

I tend to steal stuff from work rather than supermarkets (etc)

Yes i bet you they care for every penny. These companies are nazis.

They support others by selling the product such as champion, nike, reebok, anything clothing. They know how much they make from each second from every worker slave. They don't want little joey taking anything in america taking advantage of their billion dollar business.

    Watch the film 'the corpotation'

broony, ok, I'm sure they do care.
I just wonder how high on their priorities it is.

'The film features interviews with prominent corporate critics such as Noam Chomsky, Naomi Klein, Michael Moore.'

I think I'll give that one a miss. I know the thrust of what the film is about, and I appreciate your opinion. I just can't get that worked up about it, to be honest.

I worked in the non-foods section of a grocery store, by where the otc medications and razors were. We had sound monitoring and CCTV in that part of the store. Someone came in one day and tried to steal like $500 of replicable razor blades and they got caught because of the stills they took from the videos.

Michael moore plays a very very small role in the film, but its a good one. That dude is a tool and i can understand why anyone would want to stay away once his name is mentioned. The film is good though.

Fair enough. I'll download it when I have the time :) - I just don't want to be lectured by those particular people. :( If they are not in it much, I think I can get through it.

A friend of mine once lived in a town that used to be middle-class but was turning into a ghetto. There was a nice large mall in the town that had been thriving for about 10 years. As the town went ghetto the shoplifting at the mall grew increasingly worse.

People would be seen entering the mall with big empty knapsacks to put all the shoplifted goods in. Other people were rolling entire racks of clothing right out of the mall (I'm not exaggerating). Security and police would chase people across the parking lot and down the street. The mall closed down not long after that and it became a vacant building with some smashed windows.

Later the town overall went downhill much like the mall did. The demise of the mall was symbolic of the decline of the town in general. When the fabric of society falls apart, not much of anything can stop it. It's beyond the abilities of security or police.

Smash-and-grab shoplifting in other cities is even more radical. Storefronts had to install iron bars that are lowered at night to prevent vehicles from plowing through the walls.

Your mom must be so proud of you. Stealing is stealing. Ain't nobody trustworthy is going to want to be associated with a thief. Maybe you should exert some more energy into finding a job.

    I agree with Frieden.

Just because there are people far worse than you, doesn't mean you should feel less bad about the things you do.
