wats up everyone dudes and dudettes. it turns out i might have mono (95% chance) and im going for a blood test tomorrow morning. anyway, if i do have it which im pretty sure i do i wont be able to smoke for quite a while, not because ive been told its dangerous or anything, but because i dont want to slow down the treatrment effects and fuck with my immune system since im really hopin to be ok for new years eve. At least i figured out what those lumps on my neck were from. DAM this is gonna be SHITEYYYYYY!!! not just for the fact i cant smoke but because: 1. il be trapped indoors for at least a month 2. i barely have energy im always tired (cause of mono) 3.cant drink alcohol (liver inflammation another cause of mono) 4.being sick from anything is a bitch On the bright side im quite thankful as always am that i can play my guitars and listen to music . i broke my left collerbone in the summer and wasnt supposed to play guitar for a week to let it heal........i went nuts and started playing after 3 days LOOOOONG days. just need to get some of this off my chest sorry for long post im gonna go watch seinfeld.
gio ibanez and a 10 watt marshall amp. im gonna save up for a bigger amp but for now its perfect for my small room. its great to smoke a joint with some iron maiden in the backround then (all pumped from high and music) just grab my axe and shredd for hours. but playing sober is just as great for me. id rather be able to play my music hen smoke weed anyday honestly.
yea dude i totally agree i love playing stoned and sobre but sobre i think i can play to the very fullest potential..you know what i mean?
Sorry to hear man, my sister very recently had mono. She was off school after being sent home by her teacher. The doctor she went to did not do any tests or anything and just said it was obvious she had it, (interesting). Nonetheless, I have a surprisingly high immune system and she seems to be feeling 100 % better now so im not worried about catching it (should I be?). I was skeptical that she had mono from the beginning with that rather quick diagnosis by the doctor, not to mention she went out a few times throughout the week and didnt oversleep, which i think is common for someone who has mono, if anything she took advantage of her week off, as she was up till the wee hours most nights, lol. sir-smoke-alot: i agree with you on that one playing your best potential when sober BUT as a guitarist you have to admit that you come up with some pretty funky stuff when your high am i not right? and to J i wouldnt worry about getting mono from your sister unless you share anything like bottles of water or utensils kind of stuff. even sharing a cigarette or joint can cause it since shes 100% better your in the clear
i got mono two years ago. my pops is military and it was when we lived in korea. i went to an on base school and those are so cool cuz even if you made strate F's you still passed. My friend had recently got an expelled/quit (long story but the point was he was sick of being picked on for being canadian) and then i caught mono and had to stay out of school for 3 months. we were chillin everyday havinga blast. i started feeling better after 2 weeks but couldnt go back to school cuz the doctor said it was still in my system and i could relapse. I smoke cigs and those really didnt affect my sickness much.I toked up and i still felt good and never relapsed and i drank some and felt fine (didnt get like drunk never went past a buzz) so yeah i think you are looking at the situation too negatively. enjoy your time off from the world and try smoking some and if it dont work for you then kick back and play your guitar for hours on end.
im actually not too worried about the smoking anymore i just got paranoid but drinking would be stupid cuz my livers inflated. the scary thing is that im i went for a bloodtest today and they told me they would call e tomorrow morning for results. if by some chance i dont have mono then il be fucked cuz why else would my liver be inflated and why would i have a strep throat and puss lumps on my neck. im pretty fucking worried about this. all i know is that i dont know.
relax dude i had all those symptoms when i had it. it jsut takes a while to them to test your blood. it is a process plus you have to wait for all the blood of ppl ahead of you is tested.
