Where do you rank this movie on your all time greats list??? For me it is easily top 3. I love watching it every 6 months or so.
I think the movie is great but I'm not sure it would crack my top 10, probably top 20... I don't think it's even the best movie of the year it was released... From the same year, I'd rate Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction ahead of it.
i can't do lists; i'll just spend hours brainstorming, and then ranking, and then second guessing myself, and then changing my mind, and then remembering a movie that was overlooked, and so on. but it is a really good movie, and i'll leave it at that.
Not unique enough to be in my top ten. At the end of the day...another prison movie. It's my second favorite one, though, after Stir Crazy.
my favourite prison movie would have to be Papillon also the bridge over river qwai..and harts war....
the longest yard, adam sandler version. no, not really. i just wanted to briefly piss off anyone who likes good movies.
I'm not sure if it'd be considered a "prison movie" if we're being pedantic, but Silence of the Lambs for me. I have not seen any of these other Prison movies mentioned, I am realizing my movie knowledge is limited in scope.
My favorite part is when Andy escapes, but the day before when he's telling Red the story. He just seemed so sad, and then when Red has to go and find that stone that doesn't belong on the stone wall, I'm not sure why but I think it was sweet.
