'Shawshank Redemption' was on terrestrial TV the other night so of course it had to be watched (again!)

It has to be one of the most perfect films ever, It seems to have everything, and its an obvious choice cos everyone seems to have it as one of their favourite films. I can't find a single flaw with it, the story is superb & the acting by all cast members is excellent.

    What does anyone else think?

Shawshank Redemption is about a story of two men, Andy Dufrane and Red Abbott, who spent most of their lives in a prison. Red was convicted of murder with a chance of parole, and he's been there for a long time. Andy's the 'new guy', who was convicted of murder but innocent. The story takes place around the 20's/30's but goes into the 50's if I'm correct.

GREAT movie, a real classic. I recommend you check it out.

That movie's been a favourite of mine for years, I should watch it again. I have the video, or why don't I just turn on TBS? (haha! seriously, it's on TV every day)
I love James Whitmore as Brooks. This is one of the only movies that makes me cry. It's absolutely amazing! (The novella's good too!)

Funny. I've never actually watched that movie, and I grew up & live close to where it was filmed. My (former) art teacher was an extra. He was part of the general prison population. My grandfather actually worked at the prison where it was filmed, also, before it was closed years ago.

Come to think about it, I was there (Ohio State Reformitory) just last week to watch my brother's band play.

I've read the short story by S.King that it's based on. Perhaps one day I will watch it.
