The question is how you class 'normal'. You might as well ask if it's 'normal' for a man to shave his face. Times change, and at one time, not so long ago, any man who chose to shave his pubes would either be doing it for a bet, or considered an out & out perv. These days, however, not only has it become acceptable, but it is rapidly becoming the 'norm'. Much of this, it must be said, however, is probably down to the porn culture, and men following suit, then finding how much better it feels & opting to remain that way, but this brings about another question. Which came first? The chicken or the egg? At which point did it become the norm for porn stars to be shaved, and were they really the leaders of the trend or merely followers of it?
I shave while in the shower. I'm soaped up so just grab a razor and in a couple of minutes, I'm clean cut and looking great. A quick rinse of the bath tub and I'm good to go.
My experience is that sex is better and it makes things more sensitive. For me it only itched when I started doing it. I use a razor in the shower. I tried a beard trimmer once. That is a mistake I'll never make again!
As well as my initial reason for shaving my pubes being because of their going grey, by the time I was about 14, I also found that despite how much you washed them, they still tended to be extremely greasy - as can be demonstrated in the bath if you watch how rapidly they dispel dispel water. As for ways of shaving, I've always used the single bladed Bic Orange, but I can't help wondering about that product that's flooding the TV adverts at the moment (not that I've got any intention of getting / trying one), No-No, which advertises itself as being "Virtually No Pain". This is something I find suspicious from the start. 'Virtually'? Why is it that makes them feel they have to add that line to their sales pitch? Obviously "Pain Free" would be far more appealing, but having to make it 'Virtually' Pain Free implies to me that in actual fact it hurts like Hell, and that they had to add that bit to scrape past the Trades Descriptions / Advertising Standards board.
