I have never been a huge fan of T. Rex, but I was listening to the 1972 album, The Slider, at work last night. I really like some of Marc's slower ballads, but have always found a lot of the material to be a bit corny though rather immaculately produced, courtesy of Tony Visconti. Many consider T. Rex to be a staple of glam-rock, though they never made it nearly as big in the states as they did in the UK. Perhaps a bit too much of their fame was centered around Marc Bolan and his image, but they had a few really good songs with some nice orchestrations and a really cool 70's sound. That is as far as my liking for them goes, and a lot of their stuff sounds the same after a few listens. I love these two tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCUIuCuzdII"]T. I love the vibe, which is a combination of upbeat and laid-back at the same time. I love the musicianship, which is (as always with Zappa's groups) beyond compare. I also love the little musical jokes, where the melody seems to laugh at itself or trip over itself. The harmonies contribute to a comedic/smooth/lounge feeling...Zappa is one of a kind, forever and always.

Some old-school Three Six Mafia shit from ~17 years-ago, before Juicy J sold out and became a "swaggot" rapper. The production on this song, as well as the rest of the album, is better than anything being released today. The world isn't ready for shit like this, but I love it:devil: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k96LfZSfLhE"]Three 6 Mafia - Last Man Standing - YouTube

Amazing talent! His voice is pretty obvious but his chord progressions/formations are pretty complex as well particularly given that it's done with him singing like that. One of those that left us too early... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dckdPlX3Ohw"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dckdPlX3Ohw
From the new album by the Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington collaboration known as Darkside, off the album Psychic -- one of my favorite electronic albums from this year. This track is one of my favorite tracks off the album. I especially love the Daft Punkian break that occurs at 4:00. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMydPiLSC5Q"]Darkside - The Only Shrine I've Seen - YouTube
